Opportunity Awaits
Excellent opportunity for a bruiser Illinois buck. Mr. Berger is a fine gentleman and is geniunely concerned with your enjoyment of the hunt. He has numerous food plots which keep the deer in his area. Of the five of us in camp during the week, one buck was shot the first morning (125" ten-point). All of us saw deer in the 130-150" range but none wanted to walk close enough to the stand. I had a 160+ run in on me, but was busted as I stood up to draw. We all managed to harvest a doe even though the weather was unseasonably warm for Thanksgiving week. We only had two days of ideal conditions. Saw a lot of bucks for it being the latter part of the rut. The accomodations were adequate during this hunt. We were two to a trailer which had a kitchen, toilet, and shower. He was in the process of building a new facility for his hunters in 2011. You must bring your own food and he and his wife provide one meal towards the end of hunt - which is a treat in itself. Overall, this is a great place to hunt. You must have some knowledge of hunting as he will tell you where he's been seeing the deer and the rest is up to you. I recommend bringing a climber and/or hang-on stands. You will also need an ATV as you must drive yourself to/from the stand. I thoroughly enjoyed this hunt and will probably do it again.

Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
Kansas Hunting Information
Kansas is one of the top producing monster whitetail buck states in the country. It also has some excellent turkey hunting and a few big mule deer in the western part of the state. Kansas has an excellent reputation as a top notch destination for upland birds. It has excellent populations of pheasant and quail due to the vast expanse of suitable prairie and grassland type habitat.
Iowa Hunting Information
Iowa is one of the best Midwestern states for monster whitetail bucks. Non-residents must apply for a tag in their annual drawing. Archery tags are the most sought after and depending on what units you apply for generally take 2-4 years to draw.
