Species Hunted: Elk

Game Quality: Good for area

Accommodation Quality: Average

Camp Condition: Average

Food Quality: Excellent, you won\\\'t go hun

Guide Experience: Good overall

Other Personal Experience: Good

Overall Impression: Too expensive for hunting on public land.

Recommend: Maybe

Reviewer Comments: I killed a 6X6 bull elk opening morning of the first rifle season in 2008. We had to pack out the animal ourselves with the guide and the other hunter. Probably should of used horses instead. My father hunted and did not see a single bull or cow the entire hunt. He is 57 years old and ran him extremely hard up and down the mountains and even got so far ahead of him, he lost him for a brief time. Conrad reminded me of a sarcastic Willie Nelson and if you are not thick skinned, you will have a miserable time in camp. The best advice that I can give is to be in top notch shape because once you start hunting, Conrad does not like to take a break at all.

Reviewer Comments: Must be physically able to hike & hunt hard, but if you're in decent shape it will be a hunt of a lifetime. Conrad and his wife Lind really go out of their way to make you feel right at home.Everyone busts their butts to get you your oppertunity at a bull.I've hunted the last 6 years and I'll be back next year!!!!

Reviewer Comments: Myself and a friend hunted with Conrad in Oct.during the second rifle season. It had been very dry and warm for some time before we arrived. My friend got altitude sickness and went back to Gunnison after the first day of hunting.I killed a 4x4 bull the third morning of the hunt.I think the warm and dry weather had everything to do with not seeing any more elk than we did.The sign was there but the elk were laid up in the dark timber. It was also a full moon.GET IN SHAPE!

Species Hunted: elk

Game Quality: none

Accommodation Quality: poor

Camp Condition: terrible

Food Quality: excellent

Guide Experience: very little if anypoor

Other Personal Experience: poor

Overall Impression: terribleworst i have been on

Recommend: no waste of time

Reviewer Comments: I muzzleloaded hunted 4 days in the rut and never saw an elk. The truck we were in broke down twice. One day I could not hunt because the outfitter had no transportation for me. He refused to return any money. I paid for a 5day hunt and only got a 4 day hunt. The guide had very little experience. One day his call did not work ond he had to use my binoculars.Iam aguide in New York state and know how aguided hunt should be. This was the worst hunt I have ever been on from start to finish.I wasted 5 preference points for this disaster.

Species Hunted: Elk

Game Quality: Good

Accommodation Quality: Excellent

Camp Condition: Excellent

Food Quality: Excellent

Guide Experience: Good

Other Personal Experience: Good

Overall Impression: Excellent

Recommend: Absolutely

Reviewer Comments: This was the 26th guided hunt I have been on, and I would rank this hunt as one of the best. I had 8 different bulls within 40 yards and got shots at 2 of them ( both 5 point bulls ). I deflected my arrow of a stick on the 1st one, and mis-judged the distance on the 2nd one. If you are in good physical shape and can walk 10 to 13 miles a day, this is a great elk hunt. I would not hesitate recommending this outfitter to anyone.

Species Hunted: Elk, Mule deer

Game Quality: very poor

Accommodation Quality: good

Camp Condition: good

Food Quality: Awesome

Guide Experience: NONE AT ALL

Other Personal Experience: Not much

Overall Impression: HORRIBLE

Recommend: NOT IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT

Reviewer Comments: I began working for Conrad in the fall of 2000 and I'll let you into a little insight about his operation. Basically its a hoax. I worked for him as basically his slave while being yelled at the entire time. After getting tired of his s@#$ I told him to shove it. We were supposed to be trained and all that consisted of was watching videos during dinner. We tore down trees and marked trails in his "most successful areas" which we saw little to no sign in and cleaned camp. In addition to this some of his stands were set up in spots that shots of 500-600 yds had to be made. All of the guides were new and we soon figured out why. Nobody would come back to work for him, not even his own son. The one good thing about this was his wife was a wonderful cook and kept everyone well fed. Why she puts up with him I dont know. After talking to a few of the guides that stuck around, its sounds like he was just as rude to the customers as he was to us. Just thought i would give you a heads up. For obvious reasons im not putting my real name but i can be contacted by email if you have had any similar experiences with him.

Species Hunted: Elk

Game Quality: Excellent

Accommodation Quality: Super

Camp Condition: Excellent

Food Quality: Awesome

Guide Experience: Great

Other Personal Experience: Great

Overall Impression: Very Good

Recommend: yes

Reviewer Comments: Conrad runs a first rate camp, If you go prepared to hunt hard you will have a great opportunity at a trophy animal. I harvested a 5x5 bull, 7+ yrs old on the second day. Overall I saw 7 legal bulls in 2 days. The camp was great and the cooking was awesome. The guides worked there tails off to make you successful. I will be going back next year to get one of the trophy Mule deer I saw!!!!

Species Hunted: Elk

Game Quality: very poor

Accommodation Quality: Good

Camp Condition: good

Food Quality: good

Guide Experience: none all new and never hunted

Other Personal Experience: Cook was good

Overall Impression: A major ripp off

Recommend: absolutely not

Reviewer Comments: Conrad drove 75 to 80 mph 2 1/2 hrs each way to put us in his hunting area. This in it self was rediculous. He cussed all in camp including the hunters to no end. Also according to our guide no scouting had been done in our area. All guides were new kids he had brought in the month before thinking they were at a guide school. They had only learned to call elk the week before at the kitchen table. I have all intentions of taking him to court and get my $2100 back.

Yukon Territory Hunting Information

The Yukon Territory is a legendary hunting destination. Hunters from all over the world travel to the Yukon for wilderness adventure hunting at its finest. This rugged, remote and beautiful province is nearly untouched by man. It is similar in size to the state of California but with a population of only about 30,000 residents. The Yukon is a vast, pristine wilderness that holds a tremendous variety of trophy game species. You should be in excellent physical condition to maximize your success and to enjoy the Yukon experience.

Arizona Hunting Information

Arizona has lots of trophy big game but is probably best known for its trophy elk and mule deer. This partially due to the limited number of tags available.

New Mexico Hunting Information

New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.
