An experience to remember.
We arrived in Folsom on Friday August 30. We were favorably impressed by the sight of many pronghorns feeding along the road. The scenery was beautiful and overlooked by Capulan Volcano National Monument. The bunkhouse was comfortable and decked out with appropriate comfortable furnishings and mounts of game taken locally. We elected to stay in our 5th wheel which we parked next to the processing shed. We were able to connect to water and electricity. That evening the four hunters were invited to a steak dinner at the ranch-house with Kyle and LaVonne. The next morning the hunt began at dawn. There were enough guides so that even though we had payed for a 1 X 2 hunt we each had our own individual guide. My guide, Chris, seemed to have a personnel acquaintance with every pronghorn within the county. We had an opportunity to look at several good pronghorns before we decided on a shooter. I was able to harvest a nice buck on the afternoon of the first day. By the end of the first day three of the four hunters, after multiple chances, had harvested a buck that would have been outstanding on most hunts. The fourth buck was taken on the next morning. Between the facilities, the excellent food, the hospitality, the excellent guide service, and the scenery, this was truly a hunt to remember.
