Reviewer Comments: I HUNTED GRIZZLY BEAR WITH JAKE THIS YEAR. HAVING BEEN ON OTHER OUTFITTED HUNTS I WAS A LITTLE SKEPTICAL ABOUT A GUIDED HUNT, HOWEVER JAKE AND HIS STAFF MET AND EXCEEDED ALL OF MY EXPECTATIONS. DURING MY TRIP I NEVER FIRED A SHOT EVEN THOUGH I SAW SEVERAL SMALLER GRIZZLIES THAT I DECIDED TO PASS ON. I ALWAYS BELIEVED THAT RETURN CLIENTS ARE THE BEST STATEMENT ABOUT A SERVICE. LET ME TELL YOU I AM ALREADY PLANNING MY RETURN TO ALASKA !!! JAKE'S ALASKAN WILDERNESS OUTFITTER IS A TOP NOTCH SERVICE !

Reviewer Comments: I recommend hunting with a friend, which is what I did. Between the two of us we bagged four animals, I bagged a small berry grizzly, and a better than average caribou. My partner bagged a 58" moose and a caribou. It was hot in 01, so didn't see as much activity as would have liked, but understood that the outfitter can't control the weather. Our guide Johnny Rhyshek was outstanding, very thorough and was dedicated to our safety and comfort. I must mention that he isn't a very good euker player. Our cook Jason cooked us up some awesome moose/caribou burgers, moose tenderloin, hand picked blueberry pancakes to name a few items. I will probably use this outfitter and hopefully the same guide when I go for bear on the peninsula.
