Outfitter Response: I have been in the outfittng business for over 35 years and in that time we have had the odd client that you wish would have never booked. Mr Mike Davenport in his 20's and first booked a spring Cast and Blast Black Bear hunt with us in the spring of 2009 . By tuesday he was in his room not even talking to us as he was so mad that he had not seen a bear, Our hunting operation is well known in Saskatchewan and in the past few decades we have offered a first class hunt to hundreds of clients , many who are now very dear friends. Over the years we have re-invested our money and built a first class hunting and fishing lodge on the shores of Tobin Lake for our clients...... In the spring of the year we offer our spring cast and blast for the same price as our regular black bear hunt at our deluxe lodge with the only extra charge is for the Fishing license. Mr. Davenport and his buddy hunted with us in 2009 100% of our Black Bear stands have cameras on each location to tell us the size the color and what time the bears are coming to the baits . During our Cast and Blast(black bear fish combo are only hunted in the afternoon) Fishing is done for a couple of hours in the morning. Our hunting staff work our bear baits every morning 7 days a week. Our bear baits and cameras are checked every day to see what is happening and each location is updated on our log book daily. In the course of the 5 days that Mr. Davenport hunted with us we put him on 3 different ACTIVE baits ,he complained EVERY day about the place hunted. Our cameras showed us that the bears where on the baits during the legal hunting hours when this Mr. Davenport was not on the stand but when we put him on each of three Different stands that had been active consitently for days before he was their each time we put him on the new bear location he said he seen nothing..... This was Mr. Mr. Davenport FIRST outfitter HUNT of his life Yet as he is telling us in his review was that HE MUST KNOW ALL ASPECTS OF BLACK BEAR BAITING . I guess he must have been making noise or something in order for the bears not to be coming into the baits The funny thing is that when Mr Mike Davenport was not on the bear baits the cameras again where showing pictures of bears. The week that Mr. Davenport was their was a slow week the temp was hot and the bears where not moving like they normally do . Regarding the Fishing . We have a few boats that we offer the Blac Bear hunters to go out onto the water in the morning for something to do . We offer a 16 ft fishing boat , with a 25-30 HP 4 stroke HONDA motor and YES you will need to PULL start the engine. Most of our fishing is done within a mile of the lodge as the lodge is right on the water and we have good fishing in shallow water for Walleye and Northern Pike ........ Anyway the facts are that the Hunting is normally good , the fishing is done locally we supply the boat motor and gas ,you fish in the morning for a few hrs.then Hunt black bear over ACTIVE baits in the afternoon. Check with our references and find out that we DO OFFER A QUALITY CAST AND BLAST I am being dipolmatic in this rebutal letter but would say a lot more but I think that all my years of outfitting and great reviews we have will tell you a true story to the quality

Outfitter Response: Saskatchewan River Hunting Camps Ltd sasktrophies.com This was a fall Black Bear hunt, and the berries where out in full force more berries than we would normally see in July and Aug. The Black Bears where eating fresh blueberries by the thousands and just not interested in the bear baits that fall. A couple of the hunters in the camp that week saw black bears feeding on blueberries just yards from the bear baits but the bears would just feed past the baits and be covered in BLUE from the amount of berries in the bush. All the hunters in Camp were all great guys and had a good time. Fall Black Bear hunts can be hard. We do not offer many Black Bear hunts in the fall as the best time to harvest Black Bears are in the spring when the Breeding season is on. call us for any of your Whitetail or Black Bear Hunts Saskatchewan River Hunting Camps Ltd 1-866-486-8727 or 1-306-374-3223

New Mexico Hunting Information

New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.
