Reviewer Comments: I only say I would recommend Southbay because I believe Andy really wants his hunters to score big. I put n/a for guides because they really just take you to the stands but Andy is familiar with the area. There were 6 hunters the first week and not one deer was sighted over 140 with the conditions being great. When returning to the states I met at least 25 hunters at the airport taking home 140 to 190 inch deer the same week. Food was fantastic. Andy was a great host.

Reviewer Comments: This was my second year hunting with South Bay Outfitters. Both years I harvested Bucks. Their antlers scored 140" and 143'respectfully. This year 2005, however, I was placed in stand location that was in a game corridor. This location was not a legal site. I happened to be checked on the second day by Canadian game officials. This is when I was informed of the illegal stand placement. In the process my gun was taken from me by the warden and I was taken into custody losing almost a full days hunt. Upon arrival back to camp the outfitter Andy Milam refunded me for the hunting time lost. This amounted to three hundred dollars. It was the following Friday that I harvested a 143" buck. All seemed well at this point. It was not until I was about to depart that Andy called me into his office and said he was insulted by me tipping him with his own money. My tip was $200 dollars as well as my dad who tipped $200 dollars, totaling four hundred dollars. Andy, basically felt I should have given him the three hundred dollars back that was REFUNDED plus the four hundred totaling seven hundred dollars because I harvested a deer. This of course does not matter that I was taken into custody and had my gun taken away from me. Does this require a tip I ask? Should the outfitter place his stands in illegal areas I ask? You will not see my deer on the 2005 photo gallery and this is why. Ask yourself is this the type of outfitter you want to hunt with at a cost of 3,750 dollars?

Reviewer Comments: I HAVE HUNTED SOUTH BAY OUTFITTERS 2003/2004 AND REBOOKED FOR 2005.. WHILE I WAS IN CAMP THIS YEAR (2004) THEY SHOT TWO BIG BUCKS SCORING 175 AND 177 GROSS. LAST YEARS BIG BUCK SCORING 172 GROSS. EACH YEAR THE SCORE KEEPS GOING UP.. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A OPPORTUNITY TO SHOOT A BIG BUCK THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. POSSIBILITY OF SHOOTING A BIG BUCK SCORING 150-170 OR BETTER ARE GOOD.. SOUTH BAY HAS NOT BEEN OVER HUNTED BECAUSE THEY HAVE ONLY BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR FIVE YEARS.(NOW THE SECRET IS OUT) THE LODGE IS A COMFORTABLE LOGGERS BASE CAMP MODULAR HOME WITH HOT SHOWERS AND BIG KITCHEN. ANDY MILAM IS A VERY LIKEABLE GUY AND A HARD WORKER. ANDY WAS BORN IN TEXAS SO HE KNOWS OUR AMERICAN WAYS TO HUNT WHITETAIL DEER. I KNOW ANDY LIVES AND BREATHES HUNTING. HE HAS HUNTED WHITETAIL DEER, BLACK BEAR,ELK, MULE DEER,ANTELOPE,TURKEY,HOGS AND BEING A ARCHERY HUNTER HE KNOWS ABOUT STAND PLACEMENT AND WORKING WITH THE RIGHT WIND DIRECTION.. WHEN YOU ARE IN CAMP YOU KNOW ANDY IS IN CHARGE...

Utah Hunting Information
Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.
Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
Quebec Hunting Information
Quebec is probably best know as an excellent caribou hunting destination. Hunters from across the globe travel to Quebec to hunt their big Quebec-Labrador caribou migration. In addition to caribou hunting, Quebec offers black bears, Canada moose and whitetails.
