2 out of the 4 guides had never killed an elk.
The facility is a 5 out of 10. There are plenty of elk on the property but the owner is more concerned about keeping his elk off of the public land to make a shot at a good bull possible. We would watch nice bulls only to be told that we could not try and get close to them because it might scare them off of the ranch. We had 7 guys in camp with 1 5X5 killed along with 2 small bulls. 2 of the 4 guides were young guys that had never killed or guided anyone who had killed an elk. The guide that I had spent most of his time texting on his phone. When I spoke to the owner, Lon about the guide he told me that he was not happy with his performance and he might fire him. Yet he never offered to make things right with me at all.

Great Hunt
I recently had the pleasure of hunting with Anchor P Outfitters on the Hanson family's 9000 acre ranch in White Sulphur Springs, MT; a sixth generation ranch sitting in the foothills of some of Montana's most exclusive and productive elk country. They limited the hunt to just a few hunters at a time, so as to insure not only light hunting pressure, but the highest chances of connecting with top quality animals. Lon was truly a consummate professional and made every possible effort to assist with, and make recommendations to, insure not just a good hunt, but a great one. More significantly, he possess the rare ability to meld his professional guiding skills with a very personable demeanor. During our hunt, Lon evinced a cunning ability to spot, track and predict the actions of game, while concomitantly exemplifying the greatest standards and traditions of a true sportsmen. At all times he remained a very considerate guide making sure that I was able to hunt at my comfort level, and remaining positive and energetic through inclement weather and long days. During our hunt, I saw some of the largest Elk I have ever seen in the wild and both me and my hunting buddy were was able to harvest trophy bulls. http://www.anchorpoutfitters.com/

Utah Hunting Information
Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.
Ohio Hunting Information
Ohio is best known for its trophy whitetail deer. In fact, the world record non-typical whitetail was harvested in Greene county by Mike Beatty in November 2001,
Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
