Mule deer hunt
This was a Colorado eastern plains mule deer hunt. Hunt did not include food or lodging. My guide Rob Amidon was a very nice guy, and tried very hard to put me on game. There simply was very few deer on the ranch. Rob called Wes Atkinson daily to confer about changing properties. Wes told him to stay put. I found out thru Rob that the ranch we were hunting had not been scouted at all. For the price of this hunt, i would expect that to take place. Wes comes off as a nice person when you first meet him, but once you voice your displeasure with him he quickly turns. He made no effort to see how my hunt went afterwards. And when he found out that I was not pleased, told me "he wished he could identify people like me", so as to avoid the like. I heard they are now out of business. For other hunters I hope this is the case.

Superb!
My first ever guided hunt was with Wes Atkinson and his Atkinson Expeditions! It is really hard to put into words the overall experience I had with Wes and my guide Rob Amidon. Rob worked his tail off and Wes (along with his wife Rachelle) was just a fantastic host. I took my first ever elk on the 3rd morning of a 5 day hunt but I would have actually tagged out the 2nd day if I had been able to get a clear shot. The property is excellent, the terrain is fine and not too steep, and the hunt is manageable for all levels of experience. I support Wes 100% in his operation and would love the opportunity to hunt with him again one day. Maybe the next time will be for a mule deer!

Reviewer Comments: I went on my first elk hunt during the first rifle season in Colorado (Oct 11-15) and I was successful on the third day. We hunted two different herds of elk - one of about 200 head and the other about 50-60 head. Three hunters and three bulls taken in the first three days of the season. My bull was a beautiful 6x6 that scored about 265. That other two bulls that were taken probably scored around 270-280. Outstanding elk for Colorado and for free ranging animals. Wes runs a first class operation with plenty of animals and beautiful country on top of that. My guide, Robert Amidon, worked his tail off for me. I would recommend Atkinson Expeditions to anyone looking for an outstanding hunt and a great chance at a bull elk.

Yukon Territory Hunting Information
The Yukon Territory is a legendary hunting destination. Hunters from all over the world travel to the Yukon for wilderness adventure hunting at its finest. This rugged, remote and beautiful province is nearly untouched by man. It is similar in size to the state of California but with a population of only about 30,000 residents. The Yukon is a vast, pristine wilderness that holds a tremendous variety of trophy game species. You should be in excellent physical condition to maximize your success and to enjoy the Yukon experience.
Utah Hunting Information
Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.
Arizona Hunting Information
Arizona has lots of trophy big game but is probably best known for its trophy elk and mule deer. This partially due to the limited number of tags available.
