2015 is the second year I have hunted with Rock Buckingham. Rock is truly a Master hunter and a great guy. Last year I booked an Antelope hunt with him and killed a spot and stalk Archery Pronghorn that scored 76 Pope and Young inches. This year I returned with both a Mule Deer and Antelope Tag. On day two of the hunt I arrowed a Mature Mule Deer (7 years old) and on day four a Pronghorn. I am awaiting scores after the required drying period but both should make Pope and Young as well. You stay at a local motel and eat locally but the hunt is all Rock. I will be back to hunt Mule Deer with Rock. His ability to find and put you on quality animals is unrivaled!

Archery Antelope

Rock Buckingham (Owner/ Guide) is a great guy. He was prepared for our arrival and had Antelope located and blinds set for all of us. Even with the amount of rain fall we all did fairly well. Everyone had opportunity either in the blind or on foot. Most taking a buck in the low 60" - 70" range. I got very lucky and took an above average buck for the area, pushing close to 80". Stay in motel and walk to breakfast at 6AM, then load up and head to your blind with a sack lunch and plenty of water! Pick up after you tag out or end of day and go to dinner at the same place. Great, low budget hunt with great people.

New Mexico Hunting Information

New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.
