elk hunt
Not a good experience , my guide was his first year with the outfitter and only his second year guiding. Area was highly pressured and over hunted by local hunters. May just have been bad timing , that's hunting sometimes. I hope they have worked out all of problems and other hunters have good reports.

Bow Hunt
I have hunted with several outfitters in MT,NM,ID,CO and all of them have different types of hunt that they think a hunter would enjoy. Jerry takes the time to ask in detail what type of experience (HUNT) you would enjoy. They have a many different type of hunt to offer each hunter. Drop camp, hunt from the lodge, spot and stock, glass and ambush, horse back, water hole, ATV. If you change your mind Jerry without pressure changes the hunt to the hunters request. The hunters experience is # 1 for this outfitter and the area has game that meet most any seasoned hunters expectations.

outstanding hunt
Had a super bear hunt. Jerry Carrs new lodge was great. WE killed two chocolate bears and two others in our party had two shots on two different bears.Jerry spent over twenty hours looking for a wounded bear. Need to be in shape or this limits to where your guides can take you. We saw thirty bears in all.Read some reviews and like every other business I know that they may have some tough times. Thanks Jerry for a great week

Amazing hunts !!
This lodge has majestic views of baldy mountain, with 40 years experience pack-in hunts, this is something you so not wanna miss. These are knowledgable and professional. I would recommend this outfitter for not only hunts but vacations as well. Each room has private facilities. Meals are exceptional. Check out this outfitter for your next hunt or next horse backing vacation !

going back
This past winter i had the pleasure of taking my first mountain hunting adventure with my 19 year old son Connor and 2 friends. Our destination was Cabinet Mountain Outfitters in Plains Montana. The guides and staff cold not have been more professional and courteous, the lodge was brand new and incredibely comfortable which became important due to the fact that a polar vortex hit while we were there putting us in deep snow with negative 10-20 temps all but one day. That did not however stop our guides from covering incredible ground with us from pre dawn to dusk.My son was put on a very nice mule deer, and I could have taken a trophy whitetail, but we had just seen several Elk go over a ridge, and I can get Whitetail in Illinois. The food was outstanding. Our friends didn't want to go back home. While the weather put a damper on the hunt I have complete confidence in this outfit to the point that we are returning in May for spring bear and turkey. One important note. This is tough terrain. start getting ready physically well ahead of time. I learned a lot about myself physically. The better shape your in the more area you can cover and get to better Elk spots. Ill be going back for Elk there also. Beautiful country and I highly recommend giving this outfitter a look

Elk/deer hunt
This "hunt" was a disaster. There was no lodge, just a dirty overcrowded split level house. There were not enough bathrooms for the 12 guests in the house. The fireplace didn't work properly so it back drafted often. Several hunters were sleeping in a cold basement. The only saving grace in this house was Tracy's effort to prepare good food, except there was not enough room for everyone to sit at the table to eat. Most of our time hunting was spent driving around on forest service roads, hoping to jump game, basically road hunting. I would not recommend this outfitter to anyone. Promised services were not delivered.

Father/Son tag out on Bull Elk
WOW! where do I begin....What a great experience. My Dad and I drove from Maryland to Jerry’s place in plaines MT. 42 hours of straight driving got us there exhausted but very excited. This was a challenging but very rewarding hunt for us sea level folks. The lodge was great. Tracy was an amazing cook and took great care of us. We hunted hard, out early and home late. I took a nice 3 by 3 Muley Buck on the 3rd day. Shot my 5 by 6 Bull elk on the 5th day and my Dad punched his tag on a beautiful 5 by 5 bull elk on the last day. Our guide was determined and so were we. We hiked, walked, climbed, and even hit the horses one day. Missed a running wolf at 75 yards, we missed a nice whitetail buck at 300 yds, saw a mountain lion at 50 yards, black bears and even a few moose made an appearance within 100 yards. Amazing memories at 5,000 feet. I look at my elk mount in my den every morning with my cup of coffee and it reminds me of the amazing father son experience I was able to have with my dad! Jerry (owner) of Cabinet Mountain Outfitters and our guide Dillon made this possible. If you want a truly rewarding experience where hard work and persistence pays off, I recommend this outfit 100 percent. We are proud of our effort and success! Thanks Jerry and Cabinet Mountain Outfitters

Worse hunt ever
No lodge, no horses, no communication between guides, very poorly managed. Only good thing about entire camp was the cook. She was excellent and very friendly.

Jerry Carr
By far the worst experience I've ever had. Requested a fully guided pack in hunt with tents and a cook. What I got was a wild west road hunt staying in an lodge (stuffed in with 8 other hunters and guides) and driving no less than 3 hours every day. Had to make my own lunch which consisted of frozen lunch meats and candy bars. Rode around in an 88 cadillac....felt like I was pimping rather than hunting. Fully guided hunt consisted of the guide sleeping during the day and actually losing his client for over 2 hours at night. Stuffed 3 hunters and two guides into a vehicle and rode the range. Didn't arrive to hunt on somedays until 10 am. This after getting up at 4:30 every morning. Promised horses everyday but they were only available 3 days total...I heard every excuse as to why we couldn't get to the hunting spot 30 minutes prior to day break.....terrible doesn't explain this experience. They promise you the world and once you arrive the excuses start flying.........Don't hunt with them. Chad Bache sells you whatever you want to hear but when it comes down to deliver the goods he bows out and the master of deception steps in (Jerry Carr) and changes everything. Poorly run without a plan. Would of done better without a guide hunting public land.

Iowa Hunting Information
Iowa is one of the best Midwestern states for monster whitetail bucks. Non-residents must apply for a tag in their annual drawing. Archery tags are the most sought after and depending on what units you apply for generally take 2-4 years to draw.
Manitoba Hunting Information
Manitoba is known as a top destination for avid waterfowl hunters. Huge flocks of ducks and geese can be found from the Arctic coast of Hudson Bay to the prairie potholes on the southern border of this Canadian province. There is no legal requirement for non-resident waterfowl hunters to use a guide, but many are available and a high percentage of non-Canadian hunters utilize them. In addition black bear, Canada moose and whitetails are hunted throughout the province.
Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
