Hunting Trips w/Alberta Native Guide Severice

I have hunted with Ken five times. Due to fininacial strains, I no longer can go outof state on these types of hunts. Should I regain mu financial status, I will again hunt with Ken.

We can

The outfitter Ken Stienbaur seems to anise guy however the guide Henry Giles of Shadow Creek Outfitters is another story. I have paid to hunt 8 times on Y one other hunt was worse then this one. I had a wolf, mule deer, and whitetail tag. Never saw a wolf, was told by locals they are 80 miles north of here and only stray here along the river once in a great while. The guide put me alone in a blind in high grass for 2 days could only see about 50 yards saw 2 sets of ears go by. Next 2 days were wasted in a blind where another hunter had been for 2 days and saw only 2 small does. We did some driving around and I seen at least 6 bucks the story was always the same. We can't shoot here if he were across the road or in the next field we would shoot. My question was never answered. If we can't shoot here why the hell are we hunting here? Day 6 saw the biggest buck of my life, a 180 class buck, 100 yards broad side No we can't shoot here. Yet 4 hours later the guide said yes we could have shot that buck I just wasn't sure this morning. The mule deer were very scarce there only in small scattered bunches. Saw one good buck guess what Can't soot here. Again the next day guide said yes we could have shot him I just wasn't sure where the property line was. I did kill a small 3 by 2 mule deer just for meat the guide was shocked. Saying I didn't think anything was in there. My con clusion the guide did not want me or the other hunter to kill anything as he was trying to promote his own guide service. I will never hunt with either and do not recamend Alberta Native Guide Services or Shadow Creek Outfitters. The hunt and trip cost me ,a disabled veteran, over 8 thousand dollars that took a long time to save and have nothing to show for it. Go some where else.

Recommend: HELL NO

Reviewer Comments: THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE, WE WERE HUNTING CROWN LAND WITHOUT BEING TOLD. THINKING WE WERE ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. HUNTED 2 WEEKS AND SAW A TOTAL OF 9 DEER, NOTHING LARGER THAN A SMALL 6 PT. I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW BAD THIS PLACED SUCKED FOR 4000 DOLLARS. DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HERE ABOUT HUNTING IN CANADA. I KNOW SOME PLACES ARE GREAT BUT THIS ISN'T ONE OF THEM. THIS GUY TOOK OUR MONEY AND WE NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND NOT THE BEST WAY TO GET SOMEONE TO COME BACK.

Species Hunted: Whitetail

Game Quality: 1 buck on a ten day hunt

Accommodation Quality: Decent

Camp Condition: Terrible

Food Quality: Decent

Guide Experience: Terrible

Other Personal Experience: Terrible

Overall Impression: Worst I have been on in 8 years

Recommend: Hell No!!!

Reviewer Comments: Hunted with him in fall 2000. Takes too many people for the 10 day hunts and only has a few decent places. NO central camp where everyone can see what the others kill. Spreads everyone out all over Alberta to whereever he draws tags and puts them in local houses. He has about 6 favorite return hunters that get to hunt the good ground and sends the new guys to crown land north of Edmonton in Moose country. My brother and I saw 10 moose and 7 deer between us on a 10 day hunt. Another group of guys from New Jersey got stuck in horrible accomodations in an old house and didn't see anything either. 0ne buck walked out on day 7 of the hunt and I shot him. He scored 140. He was the only damn buck I saw in 10 days of hunting. I saw 3 deer and my brother saw 4 TOTAL! We were covered with locals walking thru the woods and driving up to the deer stands with trucks and 4 wheelers during the hunt. To make matters worse Ken never called or came around after he took our money the first day at the airport. He sent my brother and I to a house up north and another two guys with a guide up north that had bad luck. His six favorite return hunters all killed deer, but the 4 extras got screwed! He is by far the WORST Outfitter I have hunted with in the past 8 years! The second 10 day hunt had too many hunters and ended up sending two guys with another outfitter up in Loc Labish that saw a lot better deer and they shot 165-172 BC deer. So if you want to go to Alberta you should check around cause all of his references are the ones who get to go to the good places not the ones who get the shaft..... In 2000 I know of 6 other guys that went there other than my brother and I and they got the shaft too.

Yukon Territory Hunting Information

The Yukon Territory is a legendary hunting destination. Hunters from all over the world travel to the Yukon for wilderness adventure hunting at its finest. This rugged, remote and beautiful province is nearly untouched by man. It is similar in size to the state of California but with a population of only about 30,000 residents. The Yukon is a vast, pristine wilderness that holds a tremendous variety of trophy game species. You should be in excellent physical condition to maximize your success and to enjoy the Yukon experience.

Utah Hunting Information

Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.
