A Great Free range hunt
I publish an online hunting magazine (Deep Countree). I screened 10 different outfitters before I choose Ford Creek. This was the last Big Hunt out West that my father and I took togather. I can not say enough of how good they treated us. My Dad is in his eighties; Travis and crew went out of their way to make him comfortable. We harvested 1 trophy elk and a hugh Whitetail buck and a nice Mule deer. The food, horses and guides were excellent. Lured by Travis, I became the quarry on his own hu
I am a lifelong hunter, fisherwoman and horsewoman.I worked for years as a camp/ranch cook and wrangler/guide in the backcountry.I went to Augusta expecting to be met and taken out to the ranch by Travis. Instead he got $#@^%$*& faced drunk in town and I had to drive us out to the ranch. I had been promised a private cabin- turns out it was Travis' private cabin! The only bed available was his-with him in it! He expected me to sleep with him! He had planned it all along...I left the ranch at midnight alone to drive back to Missoula. Spent the freezing night sleeping in my truck on the side of the road. This guy is one big bullshitter. Very, very, very UNCOOL. Ladies, beware!

Hairlip
Well, this was the most miserable hunting trip I have ever had to endure. This HAIR LIP guide is most likely the worst guide in the buisness, and gives the rest of the hairlips of the world a bad name. Here is how it started... DAY 1: I get to the "camp"... which was more of a shittier version of a homless camp, to then find myself in an environment that was nastier than the camp under the big bridge in Aberdeen. I told myself "Hey, what can you really expect in the middle of Montana?" I just went with the flow. I then finally had the chance to meet my "master guide", which in my opinion, struck me as a cull. Right after he said hi, he followed the greeting up with a simple question... "Can I get a smooke from ya'?". I was already in a bad enough mood cause by this letdown of an elk camp, so I asked "$6000 later, and you still can't afford your own fucking smokes?!" Travis then chuckled, and replied "Well, I can but, my mother thought I quit smoking, and I don't want her to know". Pathetic... I was later cheered up to the fact that I smoked my elk opening day at daybreak. Long story short, my buddy was jewed into shooting an elk, that was barely bigger than a black tail, and we had spent more time on Travis' moose. Over all, if you have the chance to hunt with these hairlips (Gunner included), don't take it.

ford creek outfitters
we went on a hunt with travis and his half-hearted wanna be outfitters and didnt see anything and we were lucky because we had to go drag this travis barker fellow off the bar stool, just so he could take us hunting and he is some MASTER guide character. that doesnt know anything about hunting.... the guy shouldnt have a license to guide, heck he shouldnt have a license to drive the drunk.....

Reviewer Comments: My 2008 trip was my 3rd time with Travis. We hunted the last week of November for Elk and Mule deer from his "ranch hunt." We saw large numbers of animals both elk and mule deer. Saw a few whitetails too. Saw a few 150 class mulies. Saw some huge bulls but they were too far away. Safety is important to me and Travis runs a safe camp. I've take a 5X5 elk, 3X3 mulie and 4X4 mulie. I recommend Ford Creek. Hunting does occur on public land so you may see other hunters during the ranch hunts. You won't see another hunter in the Bob Marshall.

Reviewer Comments: Fellow Hunters, I hunted at Ford Creek last October. When I met Travis Barker at a sportsman show the previous February he told me his ranch was private property and I would be staying in a beautiful private cabin with a queen bed as well as seeing elk and deer 'on his ranch' that were plentiful and of record book quality. Ford Creek and Travis Barker are not as advertised. Travis' ranch is approx 5 acres and all the hunting is done on public national forest land. And yes, you will see plenty of other hunters. My accomodations were in a shack and my bed was an old army cot that didn't even have a pad. Good thing I had an emergency sleeping bag in my rig or I would have been pretty cold at night. My guide was brand new and had NEVER been in the area before. He had no idea where the game was or any type of a plan at all. I did however manage to get a decent buck (no thanks to Travis or my guide) only to have the meat thrown on the dirty shop floor that was covered with dirt, oil and horse manure. It seemed to me that Travis and the guides were more concerned about getting drunk than taking care of the clients wants or needs. The week I was at Ford Creek there were 13 hunters in camp and only two aniamals were killed. Most of the hunters did not even see an elk or deer let alone a shooter. False advertising of this place should be illegal. If you are considering booking with this sorry excuse of an outfitter please feel free to email me. Bob

Iowa Hunting Information
Iowa is one of the best Midwestern states for monster whitetail bucks. Non-residents must apply for a tag in their annual drawing. Archery tags are the most sought after and depending on what units you apply for generally take 2-4 years to draw.
British Columbia Hunting Information
British Columbia is an excellent hunting destination that offers a wide variety of game species. Vast wilderness areas and pristine coastlines provide world class adventure hunting for those seeking that trip of a lifetime. BC is arguably best known for big coastal black bears, Canada moose, grizzly bear, mountain lion, Dall sheep and Stone sheep. Hunters can book a hunt with an outfitter and avoid the license drawing process common in most U.S. states.
New Mexico Hunting Information
New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.
