Hunting GS
My name is Bill Hunt from Fl. If you are looking for the best Lodge in the South you need to check out Great Southern Outdoors Wildlife Plantation in Union Spring Al. I have hunted the southern half of the U.S. for 64 years. Great Southern is the most complete package you will find. They offer Fishing, Quail Hunts, Sporting Clay, Turkey Hunts, Hog Hunts and some of the finest White Tail hunting in the south. The staff is first class and you will experience southern hospitality at it's finest. I first hunted G S in the early years and have watched this 6000 acres of privately owned plantation get better every year. NO high fence only fair chase. Rex Pritchett has kept price of all of their hunts so that the average person can afford to enjoy what I think is the best in the south. Bill Hunt Wellborn, Fl

Hunt
As a female hunter I have hunted other Lodges & Leases in Alabama, Georgia and Florida. I first hunted Great Southern Outdoors in 2004. Going to Great Southern in Al was by far my best experience as the other places were like bunk house living. GS having private rooms so you feel like you are at home. The staff at GS not only treated me as a hunter but as part of the family. I will never forget my first guide Big Anthony as he is a special person with a heart of gold. GS have some of the finest staff members that you would ever want to meet, if you ever run into a staff member outside of Gs at a function or trade show they always remember who you are. As a privately owned plantation of 6000 acres GS is very managed & maintained Lodge with an abundant amount of game. Not high fenced- all fair chase. If you are a female hunter looking for the experience of a lifetime check out Great Southern Outdoors in Union Springs AL

Great Southern Outdoors Deer Hunt
Great Southern Outdoors provided a hunt and an experience that far exceeded my expectations. It was outstanding in every aspect. From beginning to end they were friendly and inviting at every turn. The food was truly wonderful and well presented. The room was clean, well appointed, and very comfortable. The guides were knowledgeable and fun. Everyone was helpful to me as a novice hunter and answered all of my many questions. There was a fun, relaxed, and warm feel to my entire experience at Great Southern Outdoors. It's a place you want to come back to again and again. Without any hesitation or reservation, I give GSO my highest recommendation.

Tradition Continues
This years hunt at Great Southern Outdoors was a little different then the last 14 years of hunting here, a little more special, one I'll remember just a little more then the rest. This was the first year that two of my three sons joined me, their grandfathers and uncles on the hunt, it would be their first real deer hunt. As usual the folks at GSO were awesome, everything from the comfortable clean rooms, the delicious southern cooking to the great camaraderie in the lodge and let's not forget the reason we come here, the hunting. GSO has some of the finest deer hunting in the south, My 9-year-old was able to take his first deer, and although my 12-year-old wasn't able to close the deal there's always next year and the year after that. Because at GSO the hunting Tradition Continues.

Great Experience
I turkey hunted and fished with several friends from out of state. We all heard turkeys gobble and saw multiple birds. We all had the opportunity to bass fish mid day. Several of us caught 3-4lb bass. The lodge and accommodations were first class. The staff and the guides were friendly and professional. The guides were the best turkey hunters I have ever seen! The best part was the food. Mrs. Jones is the best cook in the world!! I highly recommend it! D. Schofield Browning/Winchester (AL, GA, FL)

Deer hunting
Hey just to let everyone know about this place. Five of us guys just got back from Great Southern Outdoors outside of Union Spring Alabama. We went to deer hunt on December 1,2013. We all had just the best time ever. The staff and owners were the best hands on of several places the we have hunted in several years. I'm talking about if you needed or wanted it -you got it. Never had that happen before. We all work for a major company in the USA and have a limited time to go hunting. We will not look any where to hunt other than GSO. The rooms that we stayed in were awesome as far as it having a tv,clean place to lay our heads. The dinning area and bar with TVs was the best. Oh yes, the food was the best ever. Just cannot say enough about this. Let me say that all of of guys voted and we are coming back here in Jan. Already got it booked man. Myself and the guys would say that if you go anywhere else in Alabama you are being short changed. They even took us one day to do a little fishing and we had the best time. I love this place. From all of us to you....Rex and Ginger and all the rest of the GSO family we THANK YOU much! You guys are the best!!!

Hog Hunts
I went to Great Southern Outdoor 2 times last year to do their hog blow out hunt the first time we went down one of our people in our group was successful in harvesting a hog that was the May hunt,We returned in August and the two of us harvested hogs i harvested 2 and the other guy harvested 1.I had plenty of opportunity to harvest more but do to me being in a hurry to shoot missed a couple of times. The reason why we chose Great Southern Outdoors was the price for the hunt and the challenge of hunting these Hog in a free range environment. We new we may not harvest a pig being it was free range but we also are seasoned hunters and understand that it not a guarantee to harvest an animal. The staff and accommodations were better then i expected when i arrived in may for our first hog hunt, the food was great the guides are very helpful and knowledgeable on the land you hunt. The sleeping accommodations are great nice private rooms for your group I have also Reserved a hunt for June 2014 to go down there with my 11 yr old Daughter to do her first hog hunt and will be also reserving a hunt in august or Sept to take my 10 yr old son down for his first hog hunt . I really have no negatives to give out for Great Southern Outdoors there really isn't any reason to if you are expecting to go down there and just shoot hog after hog you may get that but remember it is free range not a high fence hunt were they guarantee you a hog you pick out of a pen to go shoot ps i have to select a species to post being that here isn't a hog to select what i pick isn't what i hunted there

Great Hunt at Great Southern
I recently returned from a hunt at Great Southern Outdoors in Union Springs, Alabama. I went on a three day hog hunt with my Hunting buddy Dave and my 13 year old daughter Amanda. As usual, Rex and his staff worked tirelessly to make sure our experience was a great one. Dave got a real nice hog, and my daughter and I saw a lot of game and had multiple opportunities. The accomodations were clean and comfortable, and the food was outstanding. Mrs. Jones the cook does a fantastic job and you can't find better food anywhere. The guides were outstanding and made sure we were in great spots for every hunt. I have hunted with a lot of outfitters all over the country, and I always go back to Great Southern Outdoors. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a truly outstanding hunting experience. If anyone would like to ask me any questions, I would be happy to try and answer them, my cell number is 941-504-0120, I live in Bradenton, Florida. Great Hunt at Great Southern.

Hog hunts
Went to this place in Union Springs, Al., very nice. This was my second visit this year, talk about some friendly and polite people. We decided to head up from Sarasota, Fl. Sept.26 @ midnight and we arrived at 7:15 A.M. Our first hunt was Friday afternoon going to my stand running in front of me was a nice pig. Before dark I had my hog, nice! The whole trip was fantastic, Rex , the owner runs a tight ship and let's not forget Ginger who books the hunts, she's always doing something. My guide Robert was very knowlegeable, since he's been doing it for years, one morning I asked him what stand I was going to and he said the same one as last night, the only problem was that I had a bad shoulder and the tripod was to much for my shoulder, his reply, no problem so he put me next to a feeder where I saw deer, end result, a great time, great food, great people so when am I going back?

Manitoba Hunting Information
Manitoba is known as a top destination for avid waterfowl hunters. Huge flocks of ducks and geese can be found from the Arctic coast of Hudson Bay to the prairie potholes on the southern border of this Canadian province. There is no legal requirement for non-resident waterfowl hunters to use a guide, but many are available and a high percentage of non-Canadian hunters utilize them. In addition black bear, Canada moose and whitetails are hunted throughout the province.
Ohio Hunting Information
Ohio is best known for its trophy whitetail deer. In fact, the world record non-typical whitetail was harvested in Greene county by Mike Beatty in November 2001,
Utah Hunting Information
Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.
