Reviewer Comments: Herefordale is a place that is cheap but has some quality deer on it. Bowhunting was extrememly difficult because of lack of food sources. The deer feed on acorns and the tracks of land were huge. Curtis was a great guy but lacks knowledge of deer and deer hunting. You are basically on your own but there are some big deer in the area. Cheap...low deer numbers..but possibly a book buck.

Reviewer Comments: Curtis Sidwell (owner) and his wife Trina are very nice people and provided comfortable accommodations during my hunt. This is a self-guided type deer hunt, before your hunt the owner shows you the different tracts of land (actually ranches) that you will be allowed to hunt and he provides information about each of the areas. Each tract of land varies in size, terrain, and type of cover, they are all great looking deer country. I was there and hunted the late season and after 4-days of hunting I only saw 2-does. Factors that may have affected how many deer I saw were the weather, the last week of the season, the crops (corn) not being picked, whatever the reason the deer were just not moving. I have been big game hunting for 35-years on guided and non-guided hunts in seven different states and this is the first hunt where I only saw 2-game animals.

Reviewer Comments: Basically a semi-guided hunt. On the day before the season, the owner shows you around and gives you some hints on where he's seeing deer and then your on your own. Acommodations are some type of cabin or old farm house, all very comfortable and well maintained. The ranches vary in size from 200-300 acres to over 2000 acres, most of which have some type of agriculture or food plots on them. I have hunted with the outfitter two times and have shot one buck, not very big, about 120, but it was the last day. Last season hunted for a big one and didn't get one. However, did see one 160-170 class and 2 or 3 140 class in four days of hunting, but wasn't able to get a shot. We had 8 hunters in our group last time and shot 3 bucks, one small buck and two nice 8 points. However, guys with me missed 3 large bucks, one which the outfitter said was about a 180. Can't blame anyone for those three!! All together between 8 hunters seen about 30 Bucks in four days of hunting. Outfitter is very honest and a good guy to hunt with. The price is very reasonable and you have the potential to shoot a really tremendous deer for a lot less money than some other places.

Arizona Hunting Information

Arizona has lots of trophy big game but is probably best known for its trophy elk and mule deer. This partially due to the limited number of tags available.
