Colorado Elk Hunt
This was my first Elk hunt in Colorado, I was lucky enough to video Keith Burgess of Primos take a nice bull on the Hill Ranch in 2008 and this year it was my turn. The Hill Ranch had a very friendly and educated staff when it came to hunting elk and that made for a great experience. It is hard enough to kill one of these Giants with Traditional archery gear as it is, but to get it all on video is even harder. So hunting with guides that you can count on to work hard for you is a big plus. Now this ranch is not known for their 5 star lodge, but for 5 star hunting. They have a nice but not extravagant lodge, very clean, and the food was very good as well. But the large elk heard more than makes up for not having a back porch hot tub!! I took my Bull on the very first morning and can't wait to go back. He scored 334 P&Y.

Colorado Elk Hunt
This ranch has more Elk than I have ever seen in one place, and a lot of big ones as well. The Cielo Vista has been hunted by all the big named guys and gals in the outdoor industry. I would hear from 30 to 50 elk every morning sounding off and see many more than that. The guides are very hard working and can call elk great. When you shoot one you don't have to do anything after that if you didn't want too, they will take care of everything. The only thing I don't like about this ranch is the price. but with that being said they have a waiting list so it must be worth it. Below is my elk I got last season that scored 344 P&Y.
