Monster Bucks
Awesome hunt with this outfitter. I have hunted for 3 years in a row now and have killed 2 monster bucks with these guys including a 12 point that scored 193" b&c. Lodging was good and food was good. Guides are very knowledgeable of the farms they hunt.If you want the chance at a monster midwest buck, this is te place to go. Cant wait to go back next year

Don't waste your time
This hunt was like a Mexican fire drill,to start my guide was drunk when I got there, I had to bunk on the front porch in 18 deg weather cuz they over booked then in the morning all the guides worried about was were they were hunting. Please don't fall for there web-site and listen to there lies, Us hunters work to hard for our money to spend it on a wasted outfitter thats just out to make $$$$ and does not give a damn about the hunters..

Awesome
These guys know their whitetail. Only hunting their property's the 3 weeks of the rut is key. The guides even let you make adjustments to your stand location if the bucks are just out of range. Communication was excellent. That to a bowhunter is huge. Seen numerous bucks, and harrvested my best buck to date. Stayed in an old farm house; clean bathrooms, clean sheets, and catered food, no spa's or hot tubs, but after hunting from dark to dark, bed was the only thing on my mind. Can't wait till next year.

Reviewer Comments: I have hunted with Steve Phelps at the Bluff's Camp for the past four years. Steve will only hunt his archery leases for three weeks during the rut and as a result the deer are not pressured. In four years with this outfitter, I wounded a nice buck my first year and killed two Pope & Young bucks during my second and fourth years. There are however MUCH bigger bucks roaming his leases. If you hunt hard and are willing to put a lot of time on stand, I promise you will have a quality hunt. I am returning for a fifth season and Steve is the only outfitter I will ever hunt with in Pike County.

Reviewer Comments: Hunted 2 years with this outfitter. First year I killed the biggest buck of my life in the first 30 minutes of my hunt. Second year I did not kill a deer. I did have 2 deer over 145" within 25 yards and could not close the deal. This doesn't count all the deer over 125" I saw out of shooting range. They only hunt 3 weeks out of the year so if you want to hunt unpressured deer this is the place to go.

Reviewer Comments: PAID FOR 3 DAY GUN HUNT. GUIDE PUT ME IN MIDDLE OF COW PASTURE. 1ST MORN SAW 2 FAWNS AND 14 COWS. AFTERNOON FARMER DROVE TRACTOR UNDER ME AND STARTED POUNDING FENCE POST IN 75 YDS AWAY. BACK AT CAMP GUIDE LEO SAID HE KNEW FARMER WAS GOING IN THAT AREA CUZ HE "HAD STUFF TO DO". MORNING TWO IN SAME STAND WAS 0 DEER. GUIDE TONY ADV THAT AFTER 1 1/2 DAYS OF STAND HUNTING THEY DRIVE PROPERTIES WHICH I DIDN'T KNOW. I FOUND THIS OUT WHEN I ASKED ABOUT MOVING MY STAND FOR LACK OF DEER. LEFT AFTERNOON 2CND DAY.

Reviewer Comments: My "Guides" name was LEO and he was the biggest loser scumbag I have ever met. Absolutely not a bowhunter! First night in camp he tells us he doesn't hunt deer sign, pay attention to scent control, or worry about wind direction. This man is not a guide. He is only interested in hunting for himself and could give a rats behind about providing a service to his customers. Wouldn't tell any of us what deer were in the area, where the bedding areas were, what to expect in each area. He only wanted you to tell him what you saw and when you saw it, so that he could then hunt that deer. This camp has been in operation for 17 years and they still haven't hung even a towel rack on the wall in the bathroom. Even a hook to hang your towel would be nice. Beds were constructed 2 x 4 lumber with no mattress. I think after seventeen years they could have hit a few garage sales and picked up something you could actually sleep on. You were allowed to hang one stand and were expected to stay in it for 6 days! Any real bowhunter knows that is a recipe for defeat. Never Again!

Reviewer Comments: I hunted there in 2001 and shot a 120 10pt. Went back in 2003 with 9 hunters and one of us shot a buck,a 115 8pt. They book to many hunters and they do not rotate their stands at all. I know the stand I was huntig was hunted the 2 weeks before I got there. The acomadations stink. Foam rubber mattres in your bunk bed. Our guide was a real creep. His name was LEO. He checked in with us the first two days and then after that we had to hunt him down. The guides hunt the same land that your hunting. I think this is the way they are paid. If you do hunt with them ask for Jerry Davenport for your guide. He was one of the good ones there. They do have some nice farms but overall PEEUUUU.

Reviewer Comments: Guides were very accomendating, gave you insight on the different locations, but allowed you to make changes on your own judgement. Food was not fancy, but good home cooking. Very good camp atmosphere. Like any other hunt, expect to hunt hard, but you will see deer. Quality of the deer was very good. Buck to doe ratio for the week I attended was 1 to 1 for every hunter. (10 hunters in camp that week.) Also, 8 of the ten hunters took shots, 12 shots total, with 5 deer taken. It was my first guided hunt, I will book again.

Reviewer Comments: Stands -Small,Cheap,noisy,uncomfortable lock on types with screw-in steps. Hung early in the season with no regard for changing wind patterns or deer patterns. Most stands lacked adequate shooting lanes. You were expected to hunt the same stand daily, no matter what the weather conditions because there were not enough extra stands provided and the guide did not rotate hunters to different stands. The guide will move your stand, but you had to lose a half a day of valuable hunting to do so. Stands were so bad I went out and purchased a climbing stand so I could move and enjoy my last two days of hunting! You will see some great deer but you probably won't get a shot because of the poor stand locations and lack of shooting lanes-- very frustrating. Also, some of the so called "guides" are hunters that hunted the same property and took some nice animals out before you get a chance. Not a good feeling when you spent so much money and effort.
