bad bear hunt

outfitter said had been scouting for weeks before arrival. All we did was walk the same four logging roads. Seen one bear and guide called my son off it said a 5'8" chocolate was not big enough. That was the first day and never saw another bear. Spent no time glassing and guide walked fast enough on roads that my track star son gave up trying to keep up. Other hunter in camp was also very dissatisfied. Cooking and food was great. Guide/owner ask on third day if I had any idea's! Very disappointing was graduation trip for my son before going in the service. Dont waste your money! No scouting no backup plan and really acted like did not want to find a bear at all.

bear hunt

Said he was scouting before we arrived and very obvious non had been done. Walked the same fro logging roads at such fast pace I walked blisters on my feet trying to keep up. No glassing, just walk a road to the end and then turn right around and walk back to truck. Saw a 5'8" chocolate on the first day and Guide /owner called my son off it. Never saw another bear the rest of the week.Really acted like he did not want us to take a bear.

Reviewer Comments: The summer fires of 2000 had a significant effect on the wildlife and their habitat. Despite early inquiries regarding the situation, conversations with the outfitters personnel assured many of the hunters that the fire had little effect on the wildlife and habitat. This simply was untrue. None of the 8 hunters during this period saw an elk and very few deer were seen. In convserations around the bunk house, all hunters voiced their displeasure with the hunt.
