Reviewer Comments: Went for the first week of bear on bait 2009. They had 12 hunters. Not crowded at all. They had way more stands than they had hunters. If you wanted to move to another stand...no problem. I believe we took 7 bear. One hunter shoot at with bow but missed...the other passed on a bear. The total number of bear seen by entire party on trip...13 or 14. Old rustic cabins were wonderful and nostalgic. Hospitality was great. Most everyone seen some moose sometime during the week. Some hunted coyotes in the morning hours...some fished for brookies. My third year here.

Reviewer Comments: On the second week of 07 bear season 4 guys headed for Libbys in Maine. We decided on doing an outpost cabin on Chandler Pond. The cabin and location were great. The fishing in the lake wasn't so hot. Mathews Pond up the road was better. Our guide was Mike. Great guy, even carries your gun up to you after you get in the stand. All but one saw multiple bear. Two shot bear...one passed and probably shouldn't have and one saw nothing. He also ran face to face with a bull moose. We had multiple stands to move around to if needed. All stands were baited with us present every afternoon. The main lodge and cabins are rustic gorgeous with great bedding and showers. They sit on a large lake wit plenty of boats available. The food is just outstanding.Matt and Ellen and there daughter and son are quite pleasant and accomadating. This is why they receive the Orvis awards that they have. Go there...fish in the morning and hunt in the afternoon eat everywhere in between.Oh yeah...they even have a sea plane for remote fly ins.

Reviewer Comments: Hunting whitetails in northern Maine is not for everyone. If you must see a lot of deer and if being successful is the measure of a good hunt, then it may not be your cup of tea. But if you enjoy real hunting in big country, where you will have the woods to yourself, and the opportunity to hunt for a real bruiser of a whitetail buck, give it a try. The Libby family has been in the sporting camp business in Maine for over 100 years and finer people you will never meet. They have beautiful log camps on a remote lake and treat everyone like family. I go every year and about every third or fourth trip, I take a truly good buck in the 200 plus pound range and the racks are always nice and heavy. Good luck if you go!

Utah Hunting Information
Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.
New Mexico Hunting Information
New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.
Ontario Hunting Information
Ontario is often considered a sportsman's paradise. This large province contains huge sections of wilderness, filled with thousands of lakes that provide excellent habitat for Canada moose and black bear. Excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, muskie, smallmouth bass and other species can often be combined with a hunt. From spike camps to 5-star lodges, there are lodges, guides and outfitters for every adventure and every taste.
