Reviewer Comments: Went on a bear hunt in 2004. Mike is very knowledgeable and is a nice person, along with his wife. The cabins were very nice. There is a lake right at camp with some fishing (just ok). We went to some rivers and caught landlocked salmon. I shot a 165# bear the second night. Mike takes his operation very seriously and has a set of rules for the hunters. You can't smoke on stand or anything like that. Do what he says and you will have a shot at a bear. 15 guys shot 15 bears the week I was there. Biggest was 342# shot by my uncle. They take care of everything after you shoot it. They carry it out of the woods on a strecher. My dad took my brother back in '06 and he shot a bear. Highly recommend Loon Lodge. Wish I wasn't in college or I would go back every year.

Kansas Hunting Information
Kansas is one of the top producing monster whitetail buck states in the country. It also has some excellent turkey hunting and a few big mule deer in the western part of the state. Kansas has an excellent reputation as a top notch destination for upland birds. It has excellent populations of pheasant and quail due to the vast expanse of suitable prairie and grassland type habitat.
Iowa Hunting Information
Iowa is one of the best Midwestern states for monster whitetail bucks. Non-residents must apply for a tag in their annual drawing. Archery tags are the most sought after and depending on what units you apply for generally take 2-4 years to draw.
Manitoba Hunting Information
Manitoba is known as a top destination for avid waterfowl hunters. Huge flocks of ducks and geese can be found from the Arctic coast of Hudson Bay to the prairie potholes on the southern border of this Canadian province. There is no legal requirement for non-resident waterfowl hunters to use a guide, but many are available and a high percentage of non-Canadian hunters utilize them. In addition black bear, Canada moose and whitetails are hunted throughout the province.
