Whitetail Bow Hunt with Milk River Outfitters
I just returned from an October bowhunt with Milk River Outfitters in eastern Montana. We arrived to find out that a short EHD episode had killed some of the whitetails in the area we would be hunting. I was able to spot and stalk a mature 8 pointer with my bow and kill him. I had a friend with me, and after 2 days of no luck, Eric moved us to another camp, where there were more deer. My friend missed a 150 class 10 pointer and I was able to go on a few good duck hunts. Eric did everything in his power to make us successful, there were just some things out of his control. I saw lots of mule deer as well.

Milk River Outfitters
I have been hunting with Milk River Outfitters on and off for the past 10 years. I started going out to Eric and Jared when they were just starting to get themselves off the ground and have seen how they have grown over the years. (I have made 8 trips during that time.) From day 1(one) I have been treated as family by Eric, Jared and their head guide Darren. Everybody always gives 100% towards having you obtain the animal that you want to harvest. The accommodations are warm and comfortable and the food is always plentiful and excellent. I have tried other outfitters but my favorite is and will probably always be, Milk River Outfitters.

Milk River
Truly a one of a kind place to hunt whitetails. It's a first class operation ran by first class individuals, Eric and his staff really do their homework when it comes to hunting these deer. In my opinion they offer the best chance at killing a Pope & Young deer than anywhere else in the country. You can bet I'll be back in a tree along the Milk River this September!

A Successful Non-Harvest Hunt
As a Thophy hunter looking for 150 + antler size, I saw around 20, 8-10 pooint bucks, maybe 60 different total deer, 3 bucks numerous times in the 140+ rack range, within shooting range. 2 -3 bucks in the 150 + range, 2, I couldn't get a kill shot at, one I missed.

Milk River Outfitters
I have hunted many places in Texas, but it doesn't compare to the deer I saw in Montana. I have hunted the last 3 years with Milk River Outfitters, and I plan to hunt with them again this year. The folks there are great! They are a family owned outfit and treat you like family from the minute you walk in the door. The food is good and the company even better. They have never failed to put me on a quality deer. I recommend them highly!

Milk River Outfitters, Mule Deer and Whitetail hun
This year was my 6th hunt with the Milk River Outfitters. I hunted on private ranch leases near the Powder River. We saw many nice 4x4 mule deer. I was able to take a nice 165 inch 4x4. On previous hunts near the Milk River I killed whitetails scoring from 140 to 160 inches. This is a family run operation with brothers Eric and Jared heading up the guiding. I don't think you could get a better all around hunting experience.

2009 Bowhunt
My 2009 bowhunt with Milk River Outfitters was a great hunt, even though I did not take a buck. I passed on a couple of good bucks that would have gone P&Y but was holding out for one of three 145+ that were using the field I hunted most of the trip. It just didn't happen for a shot opportunity on one of those bucks but not because MRO didn't put in the time and effort. They are great about moving stands, and setting up new stands to adjust to the wind and deer movement. The deer are not pressured at all because MRO has so many places to hunt and they are good about constantly scouting to see which fields the big deer are using and putting you on there. This was my third trip with MRO and first two trips I took a good 9 point and really nice 10. I would have to say also that the quality of bucks there has gotten better over the years as well, not that it was bad before at all, but saw more 140+ deer this year than before. Guy in camp with me shot a great 150+ plus 9 pt on this trip as evidence of that. The last thing I would say is just won't find better people to hunt with and I've hunted with probably 10 different outfitters in 6 states. They're just good people with no pretense who want you have to a good hunt and good time while you're there.
