mt lion hunt
Dennis Harris from old west adventures shouldnt ever be used for a mt loin outfitter. On the first day found a teack turned the dogs loose the lost the track i can understand that animals have bad days. On the second day he was falling a sleep checking tracks nice no track. Third day same thing as the day before. Fourth day had to wake Dennis owner guide out of bed after a half hour of tryin he finally woke up prettt sweet no track. Last day he was up found no tracks found. Dennis doesnt have good loin areas to hunt. The only bright spot was the meal at night. Breakfast was pop tarts and granola bars lunch was beef jerky and chips. The houndsman John was a nice guy who worked hard. This hunt was a waste of time and money thanks to Dennis Harris being lazy.
Outfitter Response: I hoped this would never happen to me, but here I am. I do not believe in these websites built to bash outfitter and for someone to get their thrills off of building drama. After talking to the owner of this site the only option I have is to comment on this gentelmens review. I don't need to set here and bash Nick or embarass him by telling the whole truth about his stay. I will say to anyone booking a hunt with any outfitter. That outfitter deserves to know of any disorders you may have before booking a hunt (that should include mental issues). It takes alot for outfitters to welcome strangers into their homes especially when I have a wife and children at home. I will never again let my family feel uncomfortable or unsafe by having such a odd stranger stay here. I will say I took on the primary guide roll on this hunt myself to keep my guide out of an uncomfortable five days. Nick, I and my houndsman/guide hunted from 3:30 am to sunset everyday at a largely discounted rate to Nick. When I could tell that Nick was getting frustrated I asked him if he felt that there was something more that we could be doing to help the odds of tagging a lion. Nick could not come up with anything more that we were not already doing. I do hunt no doubt the best areas in Wyoming for mountain lion, but it is hunting and sometimes the hunting is tough. The only thing I gaurantee is that we will do everything in our power to make your hunt as sucessfull as it can possibly be. I have many references that will tell you that we run a top notch destination. I want it to be known that this website has used my name and business without authorization. Anyone wanting legitimate information on an outfitter would be wiser directing there efforts to WY. State Board of Outfitters (outfitters.state.wy.us) or WYOGA (wyoga.org) Anyone that needs to hear the complete story about Nick's hunt is welcome to call or email me. I do not need to stoop to the level of sharing details here. I am more professional than that. Please consider who and what you are supporting using websites like this one that are representing business owners against their will. The Yukon Territory is a legendary hunting destination. Hunters from all over the world travel to the Yukon for wilderness adventure hunting at its finest. This rugged, remote and beautiful province is nearly untouched by man. It is similar in size to the state of California but with a population of only about 30,000 residents. The Yukon is a vast, pristine wilderness that holds a tremendous variety of trophy game species. You should be in excellent physical condition to maximize your success and to enjoy the Yukon experience.
