My Dad, and my great uncle, I have been hunting with Rafter W for (it will be 5 years after this year's hunt). Everything that happens at Rafter W is very family oriented and it doesn't take long for you to feel like a part of their family. Jack, Jessie, Trey, LaDonna, Chase, and Jamie do everything in their power to make your hunt a success! My first hunt was when I was 11 years old and now this year I will be 16 and I plan to have many more years to come. Everyone at Rafter W is good with the kids too! I started at Rafter W as a young girl and I still can't wait to go back after every year. It truly is a great and amazing hunt! Oh, and if you go hungry at the Rafter W Ranch there is something wrong. Always come to the dinner table hungry because the food is excellent!

Reviewer Comments: Rafter W Ranches is the best guided hunt I have ever been on. When they say you are going to see 30 or more 8-point bucks during your four day hunt, they are not kidding. I saw more deer in two days then I saw in 10 years of hunting in Michigan. The accomodations are great, clean & private. The food is out of this world, don't think you are going to be feed hotdogs & beans, you will have some of the best cooked meals you have ever had in your life. It is if they have a four star chef on staff. Don't be mis-led, even with the great amenities you will still be guided by a very knowledgeable staff. The hunting blinds are in good locations to see a lot of deer. They have both ground & elevated stands, which ever you prefer. I plan on going back very soon.

Reviewer Comments: I Can definately say Rafter W is a good place to hunt and stay. Mr wardlaw and his family are upstanding people. I can't say enough on how well we were treated. The accomodations were outstanding. Also I feel I have known them for a long time. There are plenty of buck there. You can actually decide on how big is big. Although my buck was not a monster he was still a nice buck. I do plan on returning there to hunt again.

Reviewer Comments: Can't go wrong with a hunt at Rafter W. I've hunted at the ranch 3 times and have killed mature bucks every trip with the last one being a ten point scoring 146 BC and I've rebooked for the fourth time.

Oregon Hunting Information
Oregon is not known to be a trophy big game producing state. That said they do have good quantities of animals such as Elk.
Colorado Hunting Information
Colorado is one of the best western states for trophy mule deer hunting and has the largest population of elk in the west.
