Reviewer Comments: I did a three-day combo hog/turkey hunt with my 13-year old son over Holy Week 2010. We were the only hunters in camp. The lodge is a relatively new facility and is nicely appointed. Rooms are small, but very clean, with private bath. Meals were excellent, though breakfast was simply cereal. This was my son's first hunt and they did a terrific job outfitting him, helping to site in his borrowed 243, and to pattern his own shotgun. Turkey guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and very good with the younger hunter. We heard many gobblers and converted on two shot opportunities over three mornings (very close to a third), for a nice 17 lb gobbler and a jake. We saw only one hog, which my son nailed -- a 201 lb. boar. The best hog hunting land they lease -- along the Savannah river -- was unavailable to us to hunt for hog because it had been set aside for turkey due to flooding and access issues. I saw very good sign in there and would anticipate better hog hunting if that property is open. I would recommend enquiring about that specifically if hog is a primary interest. It's only an issue during the turkey season when baiting is not allowed. The owners are extremely nice people, very professional and responsive. I highly recommend this outfitter, particularly for hunts with family groups, children or more inexperienced adults. Great trip and a much easier drive for me (Maryland) than Florida.
