Species Hunted: Elk

Game Quality: Very Good

Accommodation Quality: Fair/NA

Camp Condition: Fair

Food Quality: NA

Guide Experience: Good

Other Personal Experience: NA

Overall Impression: Good but Tough

Recommend: Yes

Reviewer Comments: I hunted in the late season area that Ron hunts near Cody. A large fire before season had an impact on the elk numbers in that area. We hunted hard for three days on horseback, spending two nights on the mountain. One of those nights was spent 'under the stars' no tent, no sleeping bag, while it blew snow with temps in the twenties. It was a tough hunt, but an experience that I won't forget. Stuart was the guide that was with me and he worked very hard. I don't think they were as prepared as they should have been for our overnight stays, but we made it none the less. It is some marvelous country up there. I was able to take a nice 5x6 bull on the last day just before dark. The stock that they used were the absolute best. They navigated those mountains with ease. If you draw a late season tag near Cody, give'em a call, but be prepared for some tough hunting.

Species Hunted: Elk

Game Quality: Excellent

Accommodation Quality: Great

Camp Condition: Great

Food Quality: Great

Guide Experience: Great

Other Personal Experience: Great

Overall Impression: I'm going back !

Recommend: Very Highly

Reviewer Comments: This outfitter offers a true wilderness experience. The camp is an 8 hour ride on horseback from the trailhead so you will get sore, but well worth it. The scenery is beyond description. We saw many elk even though it was 70 degree's. I killed my elk on the second morning that gross scores 358. By the third day 6 out of 8 hunters had their elk. All were 6x6 or better. This was an early season rifle hunt in unit 60. The elk seemed to be bugling everywhere. To enjoy the hunt you must be in shape. We went places the first day that i didn't think was possible on foot. I can't say enough about the staff, they worked very hard to give you the oppurtunity to harvest an elk.

Species Hunted: Mule Deer

Game Quality: very good

Accommodation Quality: excellent

Camp Condition: excellent

Food Quality: excellent

Guide Experience: excellent

Other Personal Experience: excellent

Overall Impression: first rate outfitter

Recommend: yes very much

Reviewer Comments: Ron runs a first rate camp. All of the personnel from the guides to the cook,to the wranglers were the type of people you enjoy spending time with. My guide worked hard for me, and was a real gentleman. I passed on a shot at a pretty nice mulie on the morning of the fourth day, and my guide still hunted hard for me after that. This mule deer hunt is a migration hunt, so you need the big snows to help move them. I went the second week, and saw game everyday. Altogether I saw about 80 deer, with about 15 being bucks. Since I was holding out for a pretty nice head, the deer I passed on had about a 26" spread, but I had just seen one that went about 30" inches, but I wasn't able to get a shot at it. I had been told that most seasons when the weather is right you can see 50 - 80 deer per day. The season runs for two weeks, with 8 hunters in camp per week. It is a horseback mountain hunt, so do alot of riding before going. This hunt was my first out west, and I it was pretty much all that I had hoped it would be. Arizona Hunting Information

Arizona has lots of trophy big game but is probably best known for its trophy elk and mule deer. This partially due to the limited number of tags available.

Alberta Hunting Information

Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
