NB Moose Hunt

I was fortunate to draw a non resident New Brunswick moose tag and after some research I chose to hunt with Larry Davidson of Taxis River Outfitters. Before we arrived for the five day hunt the weather had been unseasonably warm and all activity seen by the guides had been at night. As luck would have it, the weather changed for the better on the first day of the hunt. cold and calm and remained very good for the duration of the hunt. There were seven moose hunters in camp and, unfortunately, I was the only one who went home with out a moose. I only saw four moose the entire hunt which was disappointing, however we were around moose. The area is Very Thick and if they don't come out to your calling your not going to see them. All the guides, cooks and support staff were top notch and really into the hunt. The accommodations and the food were Excellent. Larry and Bonnie are top notch people and are very fair. I left camp feeling as though I had made a lot of new friends. If I am fortunate enough to ever draw another moose tag I would choose to hunt with them again.

Species Hunted: Moose

Game Quality: Excellent

Accommodation Quality: Excellent

Camp Condition: Excellent

Food Quality: Excellent

Guide Experience: Excellent

Other Personal Experience: Excellent

Overall Impression: Excellent A+++++++

Recommend: Definately!!!!

Reviewer Comments: Larry and his crew are the best moose hunters I have ever met. These guys will do anything to not only put you on a bull, but a trophy 50"+ bull in New Brunswick. There is no lack of effort on he or any of his guides parts. Food and lodging are top notch. A++++ guide service... Am going back for a deer hunt next year and will certainly be trying to get another moose tag someday too. I scored on a nice 49" 19pt on the 2nd day and the other hunter in camp got a 50" 21pt the final day despite very adverse hunting weather conditions.

Species Hunted: Whitetail

Game Quality: Good

Accommodation Quality: Good

Camp Condition: Good

Food Quality: Good

Guide Experience: Medium

Other Personal Experience: n/a

Overall Impression: Good

Recommend: Yes

Reviewer Comments: Not a costly hunt as whitetail hunting goes but there are some good bucks in this area. Hunt the 3rd or 4th week the first 2 are the hardest. You need the cold & snow for the big boys to come out. They drive you to a stand each morning, they would like you to bring your own stand I guess they figure you will be sitting in it all day and you know how comfortable (or not) your stand is. My buck dressed out 220 lbs 10 point ...I took mine walking in the first day so I never had to sit and wait. Everyone has a good attitude, good people.

New Mexico Hunting Information

New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.

Manitoba Hunting Information

Manitoba is known as a top destination for avid waterfowl hunters. Huge flocks of ducks and geese can be found from the Arctic coast of Hudson Bay to the prairie potholes on the southern border of this Canadian province. There is no legal requirement for non-resident waterfowl hunters to use a guide, but many are available and a high percentage of non-Canadian hunters utilize them. In addition black bear, Canada moose and whitetails are hunted throughout the province.
