Everything I expected from a guided hunt. Saw plenty of deer and mostly bucks running. several 120s a 160s that would not cooperate and a 146 10 point that I took home to ga.

Weed Out The B.S.
I am the owner of Thunder Ridge Outfitters and was told to post this review via the admin of this website. Due to the regs of this website it seems that any joe schmo can ficticiously go on here and post a review whether he has ever hunted with me or not. For example Joe Hunter, Private Hunter,Annonymous Hunter, Never booked a Steve R in my life, and as Far as Tony S. well that's me LOL... We had one guy this past Jan have a bad hunt during Late Muzz. Mr. Chris P.... and you can pretty much put all those reviews with him and anyone he could attach an email too. If you want the truth about how we operate and what to expect at Thunder Ridge contact the true References on our website and ask actual clients whom have hunted with us. Thanks and God bless.

Great Iowa Hunt
I just got done reading all the reviews for Thunder Ridge. I will start by saying I have hunted in 6 different states with a bunch of different outfitters and wish I could draw a tag there every year, because I would spend the money to hunt with these guys every year! This was my first trip to T.R.O. and have nothing but positive things to say. Tony and Wade treated me very well, meals and lodging were great, and oh ya they must have put me on one of there secret farms because I saw 6 bucks my first morning, one of which I am sure was a Booner just would not get any closer than 60 yards. After he went buy I shot a giant 150 inch broken 8 point that would have been near 160 as a clean 8 if he was not broke, 6 or 7 year old deer. Stands were not over hunted and everyone in camp seemed to have a great time. I will be back and I will bring friends with me. After I tagged out they were nice enough to let me ride around with them and show me some Iowa giants. One of the best hunts I have ever been on!

You decide for yourself
If you want the truth about Thunder Ridge Outfitters and what the operation is about. Please do not take the word of one disgruntled hunter whom has decided to leave several annonymous comments on here. All of the positive reviews are from former paid clients from all over the United States. Visit our website or Feel free to contact me anytime with the truth. This was his first hunt ever and he did not kill. It's fair chase hunting. That is all I can say. Also I have not harvested an antlered whitetail in Four Years, hows that for my trophy hunting. Killed a nice Elk this year though. God Bless...

Iowa hunt gone Bad!!!
Totally the worst outfitter I have ever been with. This guy sabotaged tree stands of other hunters and bragged about it in front of other hunters in camp.. 2 of us paid top dollar for the hunt and later found out that he charged less to other hunters from FL..(They have made positive posts on here...go figure) And he also let them slide on an undersized buck fee too.. I feel they are using the outfitting business to help themselves to the land before they start guiding.. They do not take hunters until Nov.. that leaves them almost a month of hunting the farms before you do.. If you noticed 2 yrs in a row, Cabelas posted pictures of the the outfitters and their kids with deer.. no clients.. I used Cabelas to book this hunt and I will not use them again.. It is ashame that there are outfitters still screwing guys over for their hard earned money.. Seems like they are wanaby celebrities.... I feel they are just thieves.. Myself and hunters look forward to this time every year, and put alot of faith into the outfitters we hire.. Well, you can check this outfitter off your list!!! PS. In a fruitless attempt, he has had all his buddies post on this site.. It is kinda funny.. but fruitless.. I also remember them talking about a guy from MN the week earlier that they set up to go trespass on a neighboring property to kill his buck.. 150-160 class animal.. I think his name was Chris.. That's Thunder Ridge outfitting at it's best!!! Good Luck if you book with this guy..
Outfitter Response: keeps adding a google account to keep posting bad comments about my business. I am hiring an attorney now. Luckily I guided a group of three very good ones this fall and they are going to do it for free. Going to file against your website and him for defimation of character and fraudulent claims. Enough is enough

Late Muzzleloader
This was my second hunt with Thunder Ridge. I didnt harvest a Buck on this Hunt but saw alot of deer and had a opportunity but missed on a 150" class buck. Tony did everything he could to make sure we were sucessful despite the bad weather. The food and lodging were very good and I will book again.

Terrible Hunt
Overall terrible hunt, completely a mess of an outfitter... No clue as to what they were doing, or at least what it seemed.. They talked about how they had one of their hunters from the prior week shoot a buck on posted land where they weren't supposed to be.. Chris something was his name.. Guess I should have done my homework.. Not sure ho legit these guys are but I won't be back..

Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
Illinois Hunting Information
Illinois is widely known as a top trophy whitetail destination. Illinois also has some great waterfowl hunting, especially in southern portions of the state.
Manitoba Hunting Information
Manitoba is known as a top destination for avid waterfowl hunters. Huge flocks of ducks and geese can be found from the Arctic coast of Hudson Bay to the prairie potholes on the southern border of this Canadian province. There is no legal requirement for non-resident waterfowl hunters to use a guide, but many are available and a high percentage of non-Canadian hunters utilize them. In addition black bear, Canada moose and whitetails are hunted throughout the province.
