This is the 4th year hunting with Tic Ridge. I had a great hunt with lots of deer seen, My dad I hunted 5 days and saw several shooter bucks, 135” and up. We took two great deer, one a heavy horned 8 pointer and the other a tall tined 9 pointer. This is a great hunt and I hesitate to enter this review because I would like to keep this honey hole all to myself, but I cannot do that to Toney, this is a great hut for anyone that is willing to hunt hard and put their time in the woods, the results could be a giant from Iowa. THANKS TONY, I will see you next year!

Don't miss your opportunity
Tony of Tick Ridge Outfitters in Southeast Iowa, what can I say, I have hunted with outfitters in Kansas, Missouri, West Virginia and Manitoba for whitetail and this is by far the most exciting and rewarding hunts I have ever been on. I first hunted with Tony in December of 2007, Tony had sent trail cam pics during late summer and early fall with some great deer. I hunt in early December so you never know what the weather will be. 2007 opening day was around 26 degrees and raining, very tough conditions, considering every drop of rain turned into ice. Saw 3 shooter bucks the first day, 20 – 25 deer total, saw more than 20 deer each day and took an incredible 8 pointer that scored 149” and weighed about 260 lbs. 2008 opened with about 4 inches of snow with 20 mph winds and 10 degrees, stopped counting deer at 50 on opening day, about 15 different bucks one in the 165 “ class. I took a beautiful 10 pointer 142” and weighed about 180 lbs. 2009 opened with beautiful clear skies and about 20 degrees, I took a 138” ten pointer about 8:30 opening morning. Tony had sent me trail cam photos of this deer all fall and that was the deer I really wanted, he was a main frame 8 with forks on both G-2 and Crab Claws on both main beams. Very Unique. Tony has several farms to hunt and it is all fair chase, I stay at a local motel that has a restaurant about 30 min away from the farm I hunt. Tony will give you as much detail as you desire with your hunting area and set up as you want and will also give you the freedom to do your own thing if you want. I have not taken what a lot of people call giant whitetail deer, but I have taken 3 bucks that are very impressive and I have seen several deer each season that are just as impressive as the deer I took. Giants live in this area and a few are taken each year. Thanks Tony for all the great memories and great deer, but most of all thanks for the friendship. Dad and I will see you in December. One of those giants will make a mistake and you know what will happen. Thanks Tim

New Mexico Hunting Information
New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.
Kansas Hunting Information
Kansas is one of the top producing monster whitetail buck states in the country. It also has some excellent turkey hunting and a few big mule deer in the western part of the state. Kansas has an excellent reputation as a top notch destination for upland birds. It has excellent populations of pheasant and quail due to the vast expanse of suitable prairie and grassland type habitat.
