This was my third visit to Timber Oaks. The staff is always professional and the hunting is phenomenal. Saw over 100 deer on every visit and harvested a deer each time. Countless does and high numbers of bucks make the action unbelievable. My home area in Alabama has nothing on this place. The lodging and meals are also fantastic. Home cooking at its best is served up for each meal. This is real fair chase hunting. No fences or bait. Your skills are heightened by the guides and their vast knowledge. I particularly like the numerous - smaller, separate plots of hunting ground from 80 to about 300 acres. This allows hunters to separate and not hunt the same plot or the same deer. I have hunted with other guides/outfitters but I will continue to spend my time and a very reasonable amount of money with Timber Oaks Outfitters year after year.

A Great Experience
I had a wonderful hunting experience while hunting with Timber Oak Outfitters. My expectations were not only met, but exceeded. I saw large amounts of whitetail, and had the opportunity to take a mature 10 pt. with my bow. Mr. Tom and Ms. Sue were great hosts and made us feel welcome through out our entire trip. Mr. Tom was very professional. And last but not least the food was excellent, hats off to Ms. Sue's cooking! I look forward to returning to Timber Oaks for future hunts!

Reviewer Comments: I went to this outfitter in late October. The guides did not know much and didnt seem too real interested. The guides took us the day before hunting to show the properties and we walked all over getting scent all over the place because they were wearing normal clothes and not scent protected clothing. Asked the owner if i could come during the rut and said that i couldnt since the first two weeks were reserved for guys from michigan. Those guys were allowed to hunt different areas of the properties where we did not and they had no stands set in those areas for us. Everything they told us was BS. All the other hunters i met out there were disgusted and furious like myself. the owner only cares about your money and the guys he has from michigan each year who have been going to him for more than 5 years. almost all of the michigan guys get deer every year. dont waste your time or money with timber oaks.

Reviewer Comments: Took 3 guys to Timber Oak. We seen two shooters during out hunt. The one I see was 300 yards away. We didn't see many deer @ all. They sent me a viedo that I though was taken on the property after I already paid for the hunt I found out the viedo was taken from all over IL. I almost died when I found that out after spending a bunch of cabbage. No one in the group of six shot a buck. Two BIG does 6 guys and five days of hunting PEAK RUT. Great food!

Reviewer Comments: I was told the average deer sighting was 12-15 deer per sitting. The average sighting was 3.1 deer per sit with our group of 6 hunters. Keep in mind some of these deer were 400+ yards away. A bit far with bow. I was also told that the success rate was 60%, reality...20-30%. The blinds were "commericial" blinds. We finially started to see deer as soon as we didn't hunt their stands. I had shots @ 120" deer but I didn't travel 1000 miles to shoot 120" deer. Licence were almost $500.00. I did shoot a nice doe!!

Reviewer Comments: I booked a bowhunt Nov 3-7 2003 with this outfitter. After arriving at camp on the afternoon of the 2nd on Nov the guide took 4 of us hunters to the spots we would be hunting in the morning....After walking a short distance from the road in our street shoes and guide wearing his leather sole work boots we get to the tree stand and contaminate the area with human scent.A red flag went up about the guides experience......After a few days into the hunt I realized the outfitter only had 5-6 treestands in place and would set up a treestand and hunt it the same day. After hunting hard 11 hours in the treestand each day I only saw a a few deer and no bucks.By the fourth day of my hunt I was so disgusted with the lack of profesionalism and the lack of fresh undisturbed stand locations. With six others hunters in camp that week it didn't take long to burn out an area.Since this the outfitters first year in business no references were avaliable and I place the blame on myself for not going with a reputable outfitter with references.

Manitoba Hunting Information
Manitoba is known as a top destination for avid waterfowl hunters. Huge flocks of ducks and geese can be found from the Arctic coast of Hudson Bay to the prairie potholes on the southern border of this Canadian province. There is no legal requirement for non-resident waterfowl hunters to use a guide, but many are available and a high percentage of non-Canadian hunters utilize them. In addition black bear, Canada moose and whitetails are hunted throughout the province.
Wyoming Hunting Information
Wyoming is a great state for hunters! It offers a wide variety of good big game, turkey, small game, upland and predator hunting.
Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
