Reviewer Comments: The hunt was exactly what the outfitter told me it would be. I am partially disabled and the outfitter and staff provided what I needed, not only for a successful hunt, but a very enjoyable hunt. The food was good, served homestyle. The accomodations were clean and very comfortable. This is not a fancy hunt, but it is a very good hunt and I'm preparing to go back. This was a 2 buck/2 state hunt. We started in Wyoming and the outfitter had told me that this area was better for whitetail than mule deer. After discussing with my guide what I wanted, he thought we should look for a good whitetail and then spend most of our time looking for a good mule deer in Montana. See my Montana review for the other half of this report. In the middle of the first day, my guide took me to an area with some ridges that were easy for me to walk with my disabilities and we glassed the ravines until we found a nice, 19" wide, mature 4x4 whitetail that I harvested.

Reviewer Comments: The hunt was exactly what the outfitter told me it was. I am partially disabled and the outfitter provided what I needed. The food was good, served homestyle. The accomodations were very comfortable. The staff worked very hard to provide a fun hunt. This is not a fancy hunt, but it is a very good hunt and I'm going back. I was looking for a real good mule deer on this hunt. I ended up taking a mature 4x4 that was 22+" wide with unique curled tips. It wasn't the buck I was looking for, but a very good buck. I passed up 3-4 better bucks hoping to find a really good one. Maybe next time. This was a 2 buck/2 state hunt. See my Wyoming review for the other half of this report.

Reviewer Comments: I booked this hunt through Jim Mccarthy Adventures.I was told there will be no more than ten hunters in camp. I was also told that shooting a nice buck would not be a problem. I was after a nice whitetail and my dad would shoot a nice muley. When we got to the motel the day before we were to go to the ranch I called to tell the watsons that we were in town. They asked me if we would stay at the motel for the hunt because there were twenty hunters in camp! I refused and went to camp the next day and was met with a cold reception. That evening my dad and I spotted a small 3by3 while we were out sight seeing. An hour later we drove back and a hunter and his guide were dragging the same buck back to the road where they shot it from. So much more I could say but I would never go back there again nor would I book another hunt through that arrogant ass Mccarthy.

Kansas Hunting Information
Kansas is one of the top producing monster whitetail buck states in the country. It also has some excellent turkey hunting and a few big mule deer in the western part of the state. Kansas has an excellent reputation as a top notch destination for upland birds. It has excellent populations of pheasant and quail due to the vast expanse of suitable prairie and grassland type habitat.
Utah Hunting Information
Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.
Colorado Hunting Information
Colorado is one of the best western states for trophy mule deer hunting and has the largest population of elk in the west.
