Highly Recommend

I have hunted with Tim, owner of TTO in the past and it was an amazing hunt that brought me back this year. He put me on trophy class whitetails everyday I was there. I would see anywhere from 10 to 30 deer a day from the stand. The lodge was very accomidating with excellent meals everyday. There is wireless internet and satellite tv. Tim was very dedicated to getting me and my dad on deer. Which my dad killed his first Iowa buck on the 2nd night out, his biggest bow kill to date. The following morning i harvested my buck and saw another 9 bucks before getting out of my stand. I have harvested many deer with TTO and highly recommend them to anyone looking forward to a great hunt with a professional guide any many opportunities at pope and young class whitetails!

I booked a late muzzleloader hunt with TTO this past January. I enjoyed this hunt very much. The people at TTO are great. The lodging was great and the food was good. I didn't get to take the trophy I went to Iowa for but I had a great hunt. I did see many deer in the 140-160" class. I even passed on a couple great deer. I was holding out for that one giant. I did see a 170"+ deer several times over the week I just couldnt get him into range. I would recommend this outfitter to anyone that is looking for a great hunt. I will be back there soon as I get another Iowa tag.

Iowa deer

True Trophy Outfitters from Leon Iowa provided me with the most disappointing hunt I have ever been on. For three years, my friend, Ken and I anticapated a hunt of a lifetime. We could not have been more disapointed. From my treestand, that I had to provide for myself, I saw 7, yes seven deer all week. The only advice I got from Tim, our outfitter, was to sit still, the deer will come around. For four and a half days,I sat there with high hopes only to be disapointed. Our "OUTFITTER" never offered any other advice as to how to see deer. Please feel free to call me about this hunt. Jerry 1-814-558-3302.

Iowa deer hunt

True Trophy Outfitters, a very disappointing hunt and experience. With the lack of accomadations, deer, and outfitter particapation, I would not recomand this outfitter's hunt to anyone. Accomadations were very small and inadequate, I saw only 7 deer from my "self provided" tree stand and Tim (the outfitter),his only advice was to stay put and wait. He was not at all helpful. My hunting partner and I basically leased a 600 acre farm for $1,000 a day and saw very few deer.

Iowa deer hunting trip

Accommodations were bad - 8 hunters in 2 small bunk rooms and the guide's parents in the same small TYVEK building. Only 1 bathroom for all 10. Food was below expections - cereal in the morning and something like chili at night out of the same bowl. Never eat off a plate the whole week. Only 1 deer shot at the whole week by a hunter in camp. Everyone was very dissappointed. I hunted 3 full days and 2 half days and saw a total of 6 deer(5 of which were out of range). Worst of all was the outfitter. Claimed he had 15,000 acres but never made any effort to move a single hunter. He just hung out with his TV deer show buddies that dropped by. He made no effort to accommodate the paying hunters. I have hunted big game with outfitters in 7 states and Canada. Without question, this was the worst hunt I have ever been on. Any questions about this hunt, or if you want other references, please call me at (252)977-0700. Stewart

iowa hunt

My above 12/23/10 post refers to a hunt in Iowa not Nebraska with True Trophy Outfitters.

Outfitter Response: I had informed mr gibson about the accomidations as i tell all my hunters. I do not have 5 start accomidations I put all the money back in the ground. As far as mr gibsons hunt yes it was a slow week not many deer were kill at all. But you may want to ask him how many ciggarets he smoked while he sat in my blind??? His lack of deer sightings was not only weather it was due to him smoking. Now with that said and kowing he wouldnt stop smoking how could I move him into a new area. He also forgot to mention that he did have a opportunity at a buck but didnt get a shot off and his son woulded a deer on another farm of mine. I just would like to state the facts everyone wants to blame the outfitter when there hunt goes bad and not take responsibilty for there actions. He also forgot to mention I offered to work something out with him and his sons to come back next year due to the weather they had on there hunt.

I have been on several guided whitetail hunts in the Midwest in the past couple of years and would have to say this is the worst of them all. I dont expect to always shoot a nice deer but I do expect certain things from a guided hunt. An outiftter can control his accomodations, food and the effort he puts towards client. For the cost of this trip, all three of these where terrible, with the lack of effort being the worst. There where 8 hunters in camp, none of which got a deer. I am shocked Cabelas would endorse such an outfit. There is really nothing positive I could say about this outfitter.

The Outfitter/guide hunted every a.m & p.m.

This hunt was recommended and booked thru Cabelas Outdoor Adventures. The Outfitter hunted every a.m. and P.M. I was there. A friend of the outfitter was hunting and was given sole use of trail cam pics, decoys, and the outfitters knowledge. Only 1 ladder stand available for use. Lock on stands were available but very difficult to get into, and, some were unsafe in my opinion. I saw a total of 17 deer while hunting. I was deeply disappointed in this hunt. There is little doubt that this outfitter is a terriffic hunter, but, he needs to get his priorities in line and recognize his paying customers. Much more to share, please call or write for further info.

Outfitter Response: This person never hunted with me.

Utah Hunting Information

Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.

Kansas Hunting Information

Kansas is one of the top producing monster whitetail buck states in the country. It also has some excellent turkey hunting and a few big mule deer in the western part of the state. Kansas has an excellent reputation as a top notch destination for upland birds. It has excellent populations of pheasant and quail due to the vast expanse of suitable prairie and grassland type habitat.

Iowa Hunting Information

Iowa is one of the best Midwestern states for monster whitetail bucks. Non-residents must apply for a tag in their annual drawing. Archery tags are the most sought after and depending on what units you apply for generally take 2-4 years to draw.
