Reviewer Comments: Fair Chase Elk hunt in the mountains of Western Montana. Guides work hard and no one was unhappy with the outfitter. Everyone saw elk, most had shooting opportunities. All but 2 of 10 rebooked for a future hunt.

Reviewer Comments: Two of us hunted with Wayne in May '03 for spring black bear. He guided me. We saw one small blond bear the first evening, then I took a large, jet black bear the second morning. I couldn't be happier with my hunt. Wayne's a native and knows the area well...mind you, he's "rough" around the edges, but committed to getting you on game. My buddy hunted the week (with me tagging along) with another guide and saw a couple of bears, mostly small, mostly far off, with no shot opportunity. I'm no expert by any stretch, yet even though the NW corner of Montana is supposed to be the best area for bears in the state, my sense is actual bear density is fairly low.

Alberta Hunting Information

Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
