Reviewer Comments: I have hunted with Eric twice, 1999, 2001 and I am planning on going back 2003. Both trips I killed very nice mule deer and had opportunities at trophy elk. A good friend of mine killed a beautiful non-typical mule deer in 1999 and another friend killed a very good 4x4 Mule deer that year to go along with mine. My father killed a 6x6 elk in 2001, to go along with my second 4x4 mule deer. The 2001 trip was marred with very poor weather conditions, or else we probably would have seen more game. The one clear day we had I killed a Mule deer and saw several other deer and Elk. If not for hunter error (mine) I would have harvested a beautiful elk after tracking it through the snow for the better part of a day. Eric runs a tight ship and his guides are extremely hard working and do everything in their power to put you on game. Keep in mind this is a public land hunt in very difficult terrain. You need to be in good physical condition. The shots can be long range so you also need to be prepared for that. There are no guarantees for a trophy, but in my opinion you can count on this outfitter giving you maximum effort, and they will hunt as long and as hard as you are able. It is also my experience that the guides have an intimate knowledge of land they hunt, and spend the off season scouting and preparing. You also hunt in some of the most beautiful country in the world. For my money, this outfitter is tough to beat. Oh yeah - the food and camp are great too.

Reviewer Comments: This was the first week of rifle season, we saw 1 legal mule deer at 460 yards and 1 illegal spike elk at 3/4 of a mile. My guide was lost twice that I was aware of and admitted on one day that he hadn't been to this particular site for seven years, not what you want to hear on a one on one hunt. Two 2 year old elk were taken out of 9 hunters. The guides recommended taking shots at any visible part of the animals at ranges from 400 to 600 yards. Both elk shot were wounded at 400 plus yards and then killed when the hunters were able to get another shot, in one instance this took the form of climbing a tree and shooting at the animal for an hour till it was knocked down. The other animal was gut shot while two hunters blazed away at 450 yards, one hunter ran out of shells and the other finally finished the animal at 200 yards. The outfitter and guides also managed to break the antlers on one of the elk by rolling it down a hill after the hunter asked them to be careful because this was his first elk. All in all not a hunt you'd want to pay money to go on.

Ohio Hunting Information
Ohio is best known for its trophy whitetail deer. In fact, the world record non-typical whitetail was harvested in Greene county by Mike Beatty in November 2001,
New Mexico Hunting Information
New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.
Manitoba Hunting Information
Manitoba is known as a top destination for avid waterfowl hunters. Huge flocks of ducks and geese can be found from the Arctic coast of Hudson Bay to the prairie potholes on the southern border of this Canadian province. There is no legal requirement for non-resident waterfowl hunters to use a guide, but many are available and a high percentage of non-Canadian hunters utilize them. In addition black bear, Canada moose and whitetails are hunted throughout the province.
