Bad guide

Three of my family members hunted with Ty Mcombs. The food was excellent, housing was good but the guide service was terrible, Ty and his guides do not know how to set up stands or understand great service. My dad got kicked off the property he was hunting on the third day and Ty just didn't even care! All he cared about that week was the pretty girl from Florida that had 5000 Facebook friends. She was the only one out of camp that shot a deer that week go figure! I wouldn't recommend his guide service to anyone. You will be wasting your money.

Great Place to Hunt

Whitetail Outfitters of Ohio is a great place to hunt. Ty knows his deer well! He has great leases and works very hard for his hunters. The lodge is very nice and the food is great! I have hunted with Ty 3 years and have already booked my hunt for 2014! If you want to hunt in Ohio for big bucks this is a great choice!

Dissatisfied ! WHAT da CRAP!

Ty stated that you would have to hunt more than once before he would allow you to kill anything over 130.I hunted with him 2yrs. he recommended my group to hunt the first week in 2009.Price was 2500. Ty was surprised that one of us killed a 125 deer. 2010, we were asked to book the second week. we did. He told us that that do to the economy that he was going to drop the price to 1500. he stated both years that no one hunts the same stands from the week before hunters. that was not true at all. Ty is not professional when it comes to his guides. He talks down to them and in turn they dont preform to there potential and therefore they dont preform for you. I never had a problem with ty personally, but i witnessed several occassions where either he belittled his guides or even worse, other hunters. I hunt all over and found whitetail outfitters of ohio to be a money pit of sorts. Just ask him of his 10yr plan.It will explain what I mean.

Reviewer Comments: This was my second time hunting with Ty. The weather was high 70's the week i hunted in 2008. Deer were seen everyday. There were many big bucks seen just wouldn't come into range. I would highly recommend Ty to any hunter. He is a top notch guide and if you listen to him you WILL see deer and big bucks. Terry is the camp cook and you will NEVER go hungry.

Reviewer Comments: This was my second time hunting with Ty. The only complaint I had was I booked a hunt and his site said only 4 hunters would be taken. When I arrived at camp 10 hunters were present at the base camp and 2 at another camp. Ty has great land to hunt and the food is outstanding. You will see many deer.

Reviewer Comments: This was my first year hunting with Ty, I was referred to him by a friend and it was worth it. I have been hunting for over 20 years and have harvested some record book deer, I never imagined paying for a hunt but I will definitly go back. I did not harvest a deer with Ty but I passed a shooter and saw plenty of game. I had a great experience and learned alot. It was a pleasure to hunt with a hard working man and an friendly honest staff.

Reviewer Comments: I have Hunted with TY since he first started in 2003 and have never had any complaints. In 2007 he introduced a new lodge which is not 100% complete but is very cozy and will be all done for the 2008 season. He is always getting new leases and taking less people. He has some HUGE Deer, not over hunted!! Ty is very scent controlled and hunts the wind. All his guides know the land, the Deer and more importantly know how to Hunt! On some of his leases you will see 50 Deer a day...others you may not see much but trust me if you sit it out the Gaint you are hunting will show up. Ty does not have bad stand locations, you are there for a reason...TRUST him and you WILL see a bruiser. Ty and his guides are honest and hard working, they will do their part, the rest is up to you.

Reviewer Comments: This was my fouth year Hunting with Ty and I have always had many chances to harvest a P&Y Deer. Over the years I have seen 5 B&C class Bucks and many many P&Y. I very picky and have passed up a lot of good deer, this year on the fourth day I decided to lower my standards and took a nice 130 class. Ty knows his land and Deer, if you listen to what he says, you will have as good a change to harvest a trophy as anywhere.

Alberta Hunting Information

Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
