Drop Camp DIY

Drop camp DIY.Saved some money by providing our own gear. Everything went smoothly from dinner and breakfast the day before from the wranglers to the pack out! I always felt that Ck ranch wanted to ensure we had a great time. Saw elk even called in a few. No shots but thats bowhunting! Awesome service and awesome views!

Other Personal Experience: Great

Overall Impression: Good

Reviewer Comments: Al and his family have run this outfit for decades. It's him, his wife, daughter, son, brother, and other kin and assorted good folk. They are the real deal. It's all public land, heavily hunted, so you're not guaranteed anything other than excellent effort and knowledge on their part. What else can you ask?

Reviewer Comments: A classic family-run operation. Everyone's good people - honest and hard working. In two hunts (one fully guided, one a drop camp) I've taken two bulls, all on public land. Gotta be willing to work, though, since it's rugged country.

Overall Impression: Can't go wrong

Reviewer Comments: I have been on two hunts with this outfitter. Third trip is coming up. All the hunts have been unguided. Accomodations are great, the country is beautiful, and Al and his people are an honest hard working bunch. The chance of killing a P&Y bull isn't great, but the chance of getting a shot at a legal bull is (if you do your part, ie be in great shape, have some calling prowess, be willing to work). In short, Circle K ranch will hold up their end of the deal. If you hold up your end, you will have a great hunt.

Alberta Hunting Information

Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
