Bear Hunting Experience with Swan Mountain Outfitt
Spent 5 days at Swan Mountain Outfitters hunting black bears and saw No bears after walking for 50 miles and riding for 20+ miles. Guides had not scouted the area ahead of time like you would think a professional outfitter would have done. When we did find a nice place with scat and good grass we hardly ever stopped to hunt there and were marched off to the next area of dead falls and no grass. Seems more like we were on a hiking trip with some destination in mind than on a serious hunt. The only chance we ever had of killing a bear would have been if we had run across one in middle of the road mid march at a range of 30 yards or less. Not only didn't the hunting stink but so did the food and the lodging arrangements. Please don't waste your time and money with this outfitter. They are out for your money only. I bet they don't have much repeat business in the hunting department
Outfitter Response: We were concerned to read that your bear hunt experience was unsatisfactory and below the standards we have set for our outfit. There are plenty of black bears in the Swan Valley, but because Montana is a free chase state and does not allow baiting or dogs there is never a guarantee. In order to overcome these challenges we focus on providing the best in equipment, stock, experienced guides and a strong understanding of the terrain. It’s disappointing to hear you didn’t recognize these efforts and we will look into every aspect of what you describe. As a family run outfit, we operate with honesty and integrity and are always upfront with our hunters. While we may not agree, we understand the importance of what you are saying, and will improve as an organization as a result of it. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

Colorado Hunting Information
Colorado is one of the best western states for trophy mule deer hunting and has the largest population of elk in the west.
Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
Ontario Hunting Information
Ontario is often considered a sportsman's paradise. This large province contains huge sections of wilderness, filled with thousands of lakes that provide excellent habitat for Canada moose and black bear. Excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, muskie, smallmouth bass and other species can often be combined with a hunt. From spike camps to 5-star lodges, there are lodges, guides and outfitters for every adventure and every taste.
