Great food, good lodging Todd was awsome at our camp. Guides are great fun people, Justin Chris Bucky and Jason take great care of you. Almost forgot John too. Owner Carl has put together a top notch operation which he take seriously. You can tell by the work pics. Only way i could give a better review woulda been if i killed a stud. But it was luck of stand draw cause it seemed like someone saw or bagged a trophy the day after i hunted it . Wish i could go every year!

AWESOME KY WHITETAIL !!!
Absolutely incredible camp to go hunting for whitetail !! I've been fortunate enough to hunt the western states ,saskatchewan, ontario and several other states throughout the US. along with that I've met a dozen outfitters, from really great to just plain awful. Snipe Creek Lodge is one of the really great ones! He's the only stateside whitetail outfitter I'll recommend. In fact with the exception of just wanting to see different terrain, i can't recommend an outfitter thats any better anywhere. The quality of animals is outstanding plenty of 150"-200" deer( yes its free chase, his longtime scientific approach to deer herd management is just that good), its more of a matter of patience, for the hunter. Can you pass up the 150" deer to see the 170".........? Your hunt is approached like a scientific equation, stand placement, wind, well documented deer movement etc is all taken into consideration. Regardless of your deer knowledge, you will learn something every time you go. But, it takes more than deer to make a good hunt. It takes a great group of hardworking guides led by the outfitter( Carl Doran) to set the tone, morale and overall camp attitude. It's a very positive, upbeat and just plain fun place to be! My son loves going as much as i do, just for the camaraderie of camp. Acquaintances soon become great friends. The food and accommodations are great. A great hunt shouldn't be measured by the kill or inches of antlers, but by the experience had while enjoying the awesomeness of nature and what it offers, not that I'm opposed to harvesting a huge buck! And a little luck never hurt!

Great Hunting, Great Guides, Great Time
Where do I start? Snipe Creek Lodge is by far the best hunting experience I have personally ever had. The guides were great, they really new how the deer used each farm and put you in the best spots that give you the greatest chance of filling your tag. The hunting was second to none, I saw deer on every sit and several nice 3 year old bucks that just were not what I was looking to shoot. The atmosphere around camp was relaxing and the food was great also. If you are looking for a great hunting experience look no further than Snipe Creek Lodge in western Kentucky. I was introduced to them by another client that I know that had been hunting with them for 5 years and now I will be returning every fall to deer hunt, dont let the horror stories of other outfitters that take your money and are not really in business or the hunting is terrible scare you, Snipe Creek is the real deal! They do a few velvet bow hunts in early September and after that they do not hunt until the 2nd weekend of November when rifle season opens so you are hunting deer that have not had any pressure for almost two months while the other outfitters in the area and the private land owners bow hunt and blackpowder hunt which pushes more deer onto Snipe Creek farms.

Best Ky Hunting
I have hunted at Snipe Creek for the last 5 years and found it to be one of the best run deer operations there is. I go on 4 hunts per year throughout the country and found Carl's knowledge and deer management skills to be top notch. He really knows what he is doing. The lodge, food and hunts are all excellent. Big deer too.

Deer Hunting At It's Finest!
September 2012 was my first time to hunt at Snipe Creek Lodge, which is located in western Kentucky. When I arrived, I was immediately met by Snipe Creek owner and senior guide Carl Doron, along with a couple other members of his staff. As soon as I got out of the truck, I received a very warm welcome and was made to feel right at home. Following the initial “meet and greet”, I was given a tour of the lodge, along with where I would be sleeping, and the archery practice range (which is located behind the lodge). Later that same afternoon, I also met the other hunters that were in camp along with other members of Snipe Creek staff. Shortly after lunch, I grabbed my bow and headed for the practice range to ensure that my bow was still sighted in properly prior to heading out for my first hunt. I want to point out that the practice range that Carl has set up is first rate, with multiple targets located at various distances. The next order of business was to discuss that evening’s hunt. The way Carl and his staff go about deciding who is hunting where I would best describe as closely resembling a staff meeting in a Fortune 500 company. Specifically, decisions are based on fact (i.e., wind direction, deer movement, deer-cam pictures, etc.) rather than by gut or raw instinct. The other part of this process that I really appreciated was that I invited to participate and provide my input. This same process was followed before each and every hunt during my time at Snipe Creek. Bottom line, Carl and his staff were very transparent WRT to stand selection…no favorites! One thing that Snipe Creek does better than anyone else is stand placement/preparation. Specifically, Carl and his staff prepare sets (ladder or climber) in such a way where the location of the stand is masked by tree canopy, with corn specifically placed in a location 18-25 yards away. The thought process that goes into deciding where the corn is ultimately placed is made by anticipating the direction from which the deer will enter set. Let me conclude my remarks by saying that I really enjoyed hunting with Carl and his staff. It was truly the finest guided hunting experience that I have had in nearly 35 plus years of hunting whitetail deer. The accommodations were first rate, and the chow was nothing short of outstanding. If you are looking for a platinum level bow hunting experience, then look no further than Snipe Creek. Believe me when I say you will not be disappointed.

Best Whitetail Hunt
I wanted to write a review on a hunt that I first did in Spetember 2011. I decided last minute to do a Kentucky hunt because it was close, an early season hunt, and I was really impressed with the conversation I had with the owner, Carl Doron. I came back in January 2012 on one of the last weekends and killed a beautiful 8 point mature buck with a 21 1/2 inch spread. Carl Doron's Snipe Creek Lodge is a White Tail hunters best kept secret. A Fall 2011 edition of BowHunting Magazine voted Kentucky to be the Number 1 state when it comes to White Tail Hunting. I have spent a lot of money and time traveling thousands of miles, hunting places like North Texas, all over Oklahoma, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, and Kentucky. I recently discovered that all along I've had the perfect place 4.5 hours away in Western Kentucky called Snipe Creek Lodge. The knowledge and expertise that Carl has with hunting White Tail, and specifically Kentucky White Tail, is unbelievable. Western Kentucky is a very hard place to hunt with all the habitat, however, Carl has done so much leg work he truly has manipulated and patterned the deer. All I can say is listen to Carl, sit back, relax, and make a good shot. I wanted to share my review because I know hunters really do their research with the internet these days. We spend a lot of time looking at pictures, map spotting locations, and talking with the owners. We take off work and may only beable to really get one good hunt in a year and we want to make it a good one. If your like me the pictures, reviews, and conversation with the owner seals the deal. Carl will give you the best fair chase hunt you can get. I have always seen great deer and have had great opportunities at Bucks. This is not a High Fence hunt, and Carl can not control weather. You need to be understanding that their are conditions out of his control, but trust me you have the upper hand at Snipecreeklodge, its almost not fair for the deer. Hope this helps you in making a choice for a hunt.

Western Ky Whitetail Hunt
The lodging was perfect roomy very clean and relaxing hospitality unmatched and food fit for a king.Carl and my guides were very informative and knowledgeable about the area and the deer and put together great hunt plans. The weather was warm 1st 3 days but still seen buck after buck searching for a hot doe but big bucks dont get that way by being stupid they were moving at night. The next 2 mornings brought cooler temps and more deer movement with some quality bucks being taken. The last morning was in the low 20's deer all around me but im a picky hunter by 9am i had seen 8 different bucks witin bow range of a ground blind and numerous does rutting activity was all around at 12 noon i took a mid 130's 205 pound 8 pointer.I can honestly say Carl has got a great thing going at Snipe Creek. To other hunters wanting an experience of a lifetime dont pass Carl and the gang up in Western Ky

Oh well...
Accomodations: Good Food: Excellent Guides: Very friendly, but basically drop off/ pick-up. Very prompt and caring. Hunting Ground: Average Negatives: 17 bucks were taken day I arrived, but full moon and rising temps shut things down in a hurry. Only one buck harvested in my camp over next four days--doubt if the deer scored over 100 B&C. High pressure on these farms--was told stands would be fresh (not overhunted) but not the case. Maybe unexpected southerly wind directions were to blame for that. Not alot of deer signs (rubs) were observed, either. Carl was upfront about the following, but it took away from my hunt... * No calling--grunts, bleats, rattling etc. * No scents--some guides even "gruffed" about my cover scent (Essence of Fall)--not skunk or coon pee. * No handgun for hunting--I am a handgunner and as proficient with them as I am a rifle. Was forbidded from using, tho legal in KY. Bottom line--I like to HUNT. Positives: Carl seemed to work very hard at attempting to put the hunters on deer and was diligent with wind directions. He and his entire staff are very friendly and seem to be knowledgeable on whitetails and their activities on the areas they lease. I will recommend Snipe Creek to other hunters because I think I was "had" by Mother Nature (happens)but suggest you book hunt EARLY/first week of gun season because there will be a number of hunters rolling thru. However, due to the handgun issue, I will not return.

Enjoyed Snipe Creek
Enjoyed our hunt this season @ Snipe Creek. The lodging was fair to good, and the food was fair to good. The guides were excelent, and tried there best to help you put game on the ground. Some less experience shooters may have a hard time making kills at 200 - 300 yards, but half of the stands you can make shots at or under 150 yards. There were a lot of deer taken the day before we got there, but only one taken out of 20 hunters for the 3 days we were there. It all depends on the does, and we hit a period when the weather was almost too perfect, and bucks were not moving. I hunted morning and evening for three days and saw deer on 5 out of 6 hunts. The big bucks never showed up for me, but I'm sure they are there. Beautiful country to hunt and we all enjoyed ourselves. This was my first guided deer hunt, I've always hunted private land. We may take another crack at it next year. $1800 for 3 days, was a little steep. Thanks, I hope this helps.
