Nice Hunt
My brother and I went on this 7 day Elk/muley combo hunt at their "Whitebird Ranch" during their first week of rifle season. Mostly spot and stalk type hunting with the use of an atv as needed. My first western hunt definitely met most of my expectations. The guide that I had was great and worked hard to help me be successful. I was lucky and harvested a 5 x 6 bull elk and a 4x4 Mule deer buck. My brother bagged a nice 4x4 muley. No large bull elk were seen....but we knew this before the hunt since the outfitter was up front and told us this particular ranch was not known for many large bulls. A good honest effort was made by our guide to give us a nice hunt! My only regret was that the week came to an end.

My brother and I went to this outfitters "White Bird " Ranch to hunt elk and mule deer. We both had a really good guide (the same one for the both of us). Terrain is tough to walk in if your not real used to it or out of shape. Mainly spot and stalk hunting with the aid of pick up truck/ATV as needed. I had a great time. Our first western hunt. I bagged a 5x6 bull elk and a 4x4 muley. My brother got a nice 4x4 mule deer buck. The bulls are not huge at this particular ranch.....but we were told that up front by the outfitter, so this was not a surprise. Overall, this was a nice hunt and I had a great time!

Archery Elk Hunt - Boulder Creek Outfitters
A couple of quick thoughts on our guided hunt with Boulder Creek Outfitters. As background, this was my 3rd time Elk Hunting but the first time with a Bow. I have been hunting whitetail for over 20 years. When booking the Hunt our main concern was the opportunity to find Elk and were willing to forego comforts like hot showers and comfortable beds. For that reason we chose to go farther into the mountains and sleep in small tents (another group used Wall tents with heaters if you are looking for something in between). While that may not be for everyone it definitely was a great experience as we did not see another hunter for 6 days and hunted on some of the most beautiful terrain out there. It is steep and has heavy cover so be prepared. We used horses everyday and even though I had very limited riding experience it worked out fine due to the quality of the animals. Our guide was very professional and had a passion for putting his clients on Elk. He was able to tell when rest breaks were needed and also when he needed to push us to go farther. I had a nice opportunity on a 6x6 elk but was not able to make the kill (most bow hunters know that pain) and my hunting partner shot a smaller bull. I asked a lot of questions in advance and Matt was always honest and prompt in responding. He never promised that we would get an elk but did say if we were willing to work hard he and his staff would try their best to get us an opportunity. Overall it was a great experience and would definitely book another trip with this outfitter.

Color Phase Black Bear
Accommodations were comfortable and the food was plentiful and very good. The guides are hard working and knowledgeable of the terrain and bear habits. There are a lot of bears on this lease and hunters were bringing in bears every day. Mine was taken on the fourth day of a five day hunt. Always a lot of laughter and good natured smack talk in the old school house. I had a great hunt and collected a beautiful blonde bear.

mule deer hunt
Tim and Matt Craig have several great private ranches that support numerous game species. I hunted the Joseph Ranch, in 2014, for mule deer the last week of the season and harvested a very nice four point buck. You will see some nice mule deer.

Spring Bear Hunt
The accommodations were comfortable, the food plentiful and good. The guides were hard working and knowledgeable of the terrain and bear behavior. Bears were plentiful and not a day went by without someone returning to camp with one. Mine was taken on the fourth day. It is a beautiful blond color phase black bear and I couldn’t be happier. The old Joseph school house was filled with laughter and good natured hunter smack talk each night. I had a great hunt.

Good Hunt
I have never booked with an outfitter before and decided to pamper myself this year. My friend and I had a really good hunt and would like to do it again someday. Accommodations were good, not great, but we were comfortable and warm. Plenty of game and great guides that worked their tail off for us. I never saw any trophy size bucks come into camp but the bucks taken were respectable and matched what was advertised. The only reason I could see for not taking a buck would be being too choosy or not being able to connect. The two of us hunted three days to fill our tags, this is big country so be prepared to shoot some longer distances. These guys are good at what they do, take care of you while out in the field and feed you good to. I hope to do it again someday.

Good Hunt
This is the first time I have ever booked with an outfitter and it was certainly a good experience. Accommodations at the camp were not as plush as I expected but they were comfortable and warm. The hunting in my opinion was very good. There was plenty of game and the only reason for not taking a buck would probably be being too picky or not being able to connect. The deer brought in were all respectable bucks but if you are looking for Boone and Crocket class deer this is may not be the hunt for you. I am sure there are some really big bucks but bucks coming to camp were in the 20-25" range. The guides worked their butts off for us and the experience was very enjoyable overall. Good people, good food and good hunting. As a side note, the elk hunters seemed to be doing very well. All the bulls brought in were good mature bulls, nothing small and a couple were extremely nice heavy horned long tined racks. There are a lot of sad stories out there about outfitters that promise everything but deliver nothing, these guys are the real deal.

Boulder Creek Outfitters Joseph camp combo hunt
Since 2005 I have booked this hunt 76 times for myself my brother and friends and colleagues. for groups of up to twelve. I work for a great company and for a number of years this has been somewhat of a corporate retreat for a number of us. in all of these hunts we have had 100% opportunity. we have been 100% successful on elk every time and when we didn't shoot a deer also it was because we were holding out for something bigger or used our deer tag for a bear. The elk we have killed over the years have ranged between 250" and 320" and the mule deer have ranged up to a 196" Boone and crocket officially scored that one of our group shot a few years back. As mentioned these are combo deer and elk hunts and in Idaho a nonresident can use their deer tag for a cougar or bear as well as deer. as a bonus we have killed a number of bears on these hunts up to a true seven footer. What you should expect: A warm place to sleep but not anything fancy. A lot of country (55,000 acres) steep rugged terrain (be in shape) opportunity at trophy quality animals both Elk and Mule deer. I have hunted most of the western states and I return to this ranch over and over because of the animals. because this is such big country you should be proficient at shooting at long ranges to the best of your ability. more important than that is to know your ability and let your guide know what that is. I highly recommend if you are going to spend this kind of money on a hunt that you spend a lot of time at the range shooting and determining your maximum comfortable range. over the years we have brought lets say some less than prepared shooters. They have always gotten these hunters their animals but it makes it a lot harder than it needs to be. If you are looking for a no frills high success rate for quality animals hunt than I would say this is for you. If you are looking for a spa hunt than well maybe not for you

Oregon Hunting Information
Oregon is not known to be a trophy big game producing state. That said they do have good quantities of animals such as Elk.
Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
Quebec Hunting Information
Quebec is probably best know as an excellent caribou hunting destination. Hunters from across the globe travel to Quebec to hunt their big Quebec-Labrador caribou migration. In addition to caribou hunting, Quebec offers black bears, Canada moose and whitetails.
