Outstanding Outfitters lead to an Outstanding Time
My recent bow hunt to Southern Ohio Outfitters in the first week of October 2011 was the first hunt I had ever booked with an Outfitter. I was going with friends who have been out there the past 2 years, but, I still wasn't sure what to expect. After spending a week hunting with Owner Dave Lusk and his guides, Kevin Ray and Tony Stewart, I can see what has kept my friends going back. The log cabin lodge was clean, comfortable, and immediately felt like home. The food was outstanding and there was plenty of it, in fact, I think I am still a few pounds heavier than when I got there. The guides are always planning/preparing for your next set trying to put you on the buck of a lifetime, and there appear to be plenty of them there. They were dedicated, sincere, and just great people to be around. I did not harvest an animal on the trip, but I assure you, it was not for lack of effort on the part of the Southern Ohio Outfitters crew. If you are looking to "hunt" fair chase, no high fence, huge whitetails, I highly recommend you give Southern Ohio Outfitters a chance. This was a first rate, Outstanding Outfitter, and I had an Outstanding time!!! I have already booked for 2012 and 2013.

My Ohio buck 2011
I hunted with Southern Ohio Outfitters on 10/10-10/14 2011. From the time I arrived at the lodge, Dave Lusk owner and this guides Kevin, Tony and Mike made me feel welcome. The lodge was super and food was great. They have a shooting range for you to shoot your bow at, glad i did because I was shooting 8 inches to the left. I shot my buck on the first evening. 10 point, 138 gross, 6 1/2 year old. The stands are very safe and put in great locations. I got to hunt for a doe but didn't shoot any. i'm already booked for next year. This is a fair chase hunt for a great chance at great buck.

Dave Lusk
Hunting with my Dad for the second year with Southern Ohio Outfitters for Turkey. Dave put us up in a great camp where we had a lot of comfort and room. Dave and his guide Zach are "the best" guides I and my dad have come across and we have been screwed alot by some. Dave put us on a prime piece of land that had many flocks of Turkeys we worked. Even though we were self guided Dave would check with us everyday and offer advice and answer our questions. His advice paid off because we nailed a nice bird. Dave actually cares that we have an enjoyable hunt unlike many other outfitters who just want your money. Def going back next year. -Nate Morris

Youth Spring Turkey Hunt
Hunt went very well despite the weather. The farm we hunted had lots of birds and my 12 year old son had a terrific experience. He did get a turkey despite the horrible rain. The lodge was nice and clean and the guides where very friendly and put us in the birds!

Turkey hunting trip of a lifetime!!
With the capable assistance of David Lusk, owner of S.O.O., acting as my guide, I was successful in harvesting a prized turkey on each of two morning turkey hunts. The trip was made possible by a surprise Christmas gift from my family. These were my first two turkey hunts and and they were filled with the excitement of learning from experienced turkey hunters who showed me how to locate and bring the birds to our set-up location. The accommodations provided at S.O.O. Lodge were very desirable and the time spent with other hunters and guides certainly added to the rewarding memories and excitement of my turkey hunting experience. I would highly recommend S.O.O. to anyone who is interested in a top-notch facility, great surroundings, and highly qualified guides.

Turkey Hunt
My son and I hunted for 4 days with Dave Lusk of Southern Ohio Outfitters, April 18-21, 2011. We were a DIY hunt. Dave provided the land for us, and we were totally on our own, which is how we like it. My son Nate and I enjoy hunting together, and using our own expertise to take both deer and turkeys. Our accomodations were first rate, the hunting property was terrific (except for climbing hills, I better get in better shape.) We fought thunderstorms and rainy weather, along with swollen impassible streams, but on the 2nd day, Nate called in a couple toms, and I shot one, but Nate couldn't get off a good shot. THe 3rd day we were on birds, but couldn't get any to come in. We are already planning our next years hunt with Dave. He's a terrific, honest outfitter, who lives up to his word. The weather was so wet and rainy, we didn't get any good photos though, maybe next year.

successful hunt
I did a 3 day hunt at S.O.O. in the late bow season. The lodge is nice with evey accommodation of home. I felt that my guide was very knowledgeable with there land and stand setups. Although hunting was tough and i didnt have many deer sightings i still ended up killing a nice buck. This wouldn't of happen with out the hard work and persistence of my guide. The buck i shot was the same buck that my guide saw the evening befor while scouting. Dave lusk and his guides are some good guys and eat sleep and dream about getting you that buck while your hunting with them! Feel free to contact me with questions about my experince at S.O.O.

Great outfitter!!!
Wow.. Where to start? We have been going to southern Ohio outfitters for 2 years now. This was our second trip out for the late muzzleloader hunt this January. I can honestly say this is a first class operation. From the moment you arrive till you leave you feel at home. The guides take absolutely wonderful care of you and will help you out in any way possible. While we were out there, you don't feel like just another "number". The guide bust there A%$ trying to get you into deer. I did not take a buck this year but as my guide told me he would get me on a shooter, he came through and put me on a monster 10. We like this place so much we actually booked a rut hunt next season. I would recommend this outfit to anyone who is looking to have the opportunity to take a monster buck and is looking to have a great time in camp. You will not be disappointed.

Saskatchewan Hunting Information
Saskatchewan is home to giant whitetails and skies filled with waterfowl. Saskatchewan is located in the northern part of the central flyway and harbors huge numbers of migrating ducks and geese. Canada moose and black bear are plentiful. Hundreds of outfitters are available to provide whatever kind of hunt a guy or gal needs.
Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
Iowa Hunting Information
Iowa is one of the best Midwestern states for monster whitetail bucks. Non-residents must apply for a tag in their annual drawing. Archery tags are the most sought after and depending on what units you apply for generally take 2-4 years to draw.
